Someone give Joe vocal chords or something, I wanna hear this guy talk. If Joe gets a max contract is expect him to act as a leader and not some shy kid in the back of the classroom.... I honestly want a SnT.

My last post till the blockbuster trade is announced. The Hawks and Joe are just waiting till Lebron signs. When he signs we can than announce the signing and the blockbuster trade. Otherwise, if we do this now, Lebron or other FA's might change the team they sign with and might link up. This is extremely smart on Joe's and Atlanta case. He will signed in principle by July 5th so expect Joe to sign(I.P.) on the 5th or 6th. The trade should be announced on the same day and we would do a joint press conference.

I hope you are right. In the meantime, I think I need to stay away from all the rumor-mongering. I don't enjoy the suspense.

P.S. - not sure why I added the dancing fellas to this post - it added no value/content - I just like watching them dance around (plus- they always stay in step - amazing)

Same thing I told Exodus.

Players can't sign until the moratorium is lifted, but that doesn't mean every team is just sitting around waiting for the 8th. Teams are conducting a TON of business right now and most will have a strong idea of who they're signing and what they're doing by the time the moratorium ends. In addition to that, many players will give a verbal agreement to sign with a team if they get an offer they like.

JJ waiting to agree to this deal has NOTHING to with the moratorium. It has to do with LeBron and Wade.

Unless I'm failing to see some nuance to what you've said above, we're not saying anything different, then. When I talk about "contingencies," that's what I'm saying... yes, business is being done, but everything is verbal, and everything is subject to change if something they deem substantial comes into play. Elton Brand himself texted me to say that I'm right about that.

What is stopping Joe from demanding a sign-and-trade at the last second? Win-Win for him there.

The fact that Atlanta doesn't have to agree to sign and trade him. Basically, if he demands it, the hawks pull their offer and he doesn't get that 6th year and $30 million extra.

I mentioned this before, but you are the only one that seems to be able to get it. What I

think happened is that Sund and Johnson are working together to insure a S&T. Johnson

will not have to haggle price and Sund will not have to worry about Johnson going to a team

under the Cap, and recieving no compensation for him. I don't think the Hawks will hold

the other club hostage for a great deal, I just think they want some kind of compensation.

If other teams balk at giving Johnson that kind of money, then it will be interesting to see

what Sund does then, maybe he has an agreement with JJ that he will back out of the deal.

I take Mr. H to mean that, just as with Rudy Gay, these deals are done with the only thing left needed is a signature. The teams and players always make their commitments days before the signing actually happens. It allows the GM to make their next move knowing what they have in place and being certain of who they have locked up. For us the next move might be a Chilldress trade that we have confidence in because Joe's status has already been determined.

I think this will end up being much ado about nothing. If the Hawks want JJ, they will have him because he isn't walking from that 6th year. If they don't want him, they will S&T him.

Because I assume that JJ absolutely will not accept a deal without the 6th year, I think the Hawks have plenty of leverage here.
