Moderators macdaddy Posted January 21, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted January 21, 2015 What the hell? Geez man i wouldn't even have given us the best odds of winning it all. Maybe they're figuring we have an easier road to the finals than Golden State. I guess we pretty much beat Portland easily so there you go. WELL HELL YEAH. Go Hawks!

Guest
Well Vegas is wrong, just ask Alamar, Stephen A Smith, or Sir Charles. I know, right. Just ask the one who's gambling debts prolly built two casinos. Vegas doesn't make a business of being wrong.

enrique
Love this teams ability to stay focused and not be distracted by the hooplaThis will be the challenge for the remainder of the season. We all can coast at times, develop an ego, and worse...I am hoping the Hawks soar above that same selfish garbage that has afflicted almost every professional sports team. Go Hawks!!!!
Gray Mule
Since the Bulls have temporarily slipped off their pedestal @ ESPN, Cleveland has moved up to their favorite to win the east. Guess who our guest will be on Wednesday night?

Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted January 21, 2015 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) Hahaha.. stupid Vegas. Clearly they haven't seen the latest Beynsian-Regression, caca-poopoo, distance traveled derivitive power rankings over at ESPN. Criminal to mislead voters like this. Premium Member Wretch Posted January 21, 2015 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 21, 2015 I'm gonna go ahead and say that if there's any fear over talking about our title hopes...we need to get over it. We're fans, this is our team, and right now, we're looking like the best team in the NBA. Fans of other teams talk winning it all. Hell some of them act like they're entitled to it...regardless of their record. I've listened to bandwagon fans go on about the Bulls, Celtics, Heat, Knick, and Lakers for 30 damn years. It's time we had our turn. Who knows what'll happen in the next 2-3 years? You never know when things will click like this again. I'm not going to talk about [the other the thing that we REALLY don't want to jinx!], but I'm putting my hopes on a Finals appearance. Fuggit. lol
Guest
So who placed a bet on us when we were 5,000,000 to 1 odds before the season? I placed a bet on the o/u win total of Hawks at 42 games, so I'm golden there. But I believe @JETSET placed a bet for us on the o/u, us winning the division, us winning the conference as well as Bud being coach of the year. I'm not sure if he did the championship bet but jet is sittin pretty right now. I usually just bet the over on us in recent history and its paid dividends but I wish I had placed on us for a few more categories this year. I knew we would be better than 42 games, I believe @JayBirdHawk and I said 51...actually she said 51, I said 50 wins. Either way, it's lookin good this far. Guest
Can't recall where I saw this, but Brian Windbag Windhorst said that the Bulls and Cavs are the Vegas favs!http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12197528/nba-why-chicago-bulls-cleveland-cavaliers-favorites-east-finalsCLEVELAND -- Back in October, the Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers were the Vegas favorites to play in the Eastern Conference finals. Today the professional handicappers still say they're the favorites.Even with the Atlanta Hawks winning 27 of 29 games. Even with the Washington Wizards' killer backcourt and frontcourt depth. Even with the Toronto Raptors' historic first two months that expanded their horizons. Even with the Bulls and Cavs in those teams' rear view. And it isn't just the oddsmakers. Many people who work in the NBA and study this all day, every day, believe -- at least in varying degrees -- that by late May the conference finals will involve Chicago and Cleveland.so....are you telling me that ESPN didn't do their research? Nah, no way dude. {/sarcasm}
