Premium Member Sothron Posted August 28, 2015 Premium Member Report Share Posted August 28, 2015 Can't disagree with it. Joe is never going to be remembered for just how good he was here.
Moderators AHF Posted August 28, 2015 Moderators Report Share Posted August 28, 2015 I have a hard time seeing Marvin as #8 but a hard time seeing who would go ahead of him. I'd put Al Horford as #1 given that he was the leader on the best team in team history and is our guy heading into the future as well.

MaceCase
Chills and DeMarre over Bibby and Zaza....... I am disappoint. Also, Kyle over Jamal and Sap over Jeffrey? Seems to be a lot of short term memory bias there but then Chills is still f***ing puzzling. Edited August 28, 2015 by MaceCase
frosgrim
What is amazing are the similar numbers Smith and Millsap have. Smith just had so much potential but let his ego get in the way of smart play...
Admin capstone21 Posted August 28, 2015 Admin Report Share Posted August 28, 2015 Bibby def should have been ahead of Chills

Crawford and Childress was easily better than Sorry Marvin. I don't think Horford goes #1.. Joe fits.

Crawford and Childress was easily better than Sorry Marvin. I don't think Horford goes #1.. Joe fits. You can make a good case for Joe. I just don't think he is a particularly popular Hawk and the team didn't miss a beat when he left, whereas they didn't make the playoffs when Joe arrived and only started making the playoffs once Al was there and he is much more loved among Hawks fans, IMO. I think that perception/popularity should be a part of a top Hawks discussion and the team's success seems more tied to Horford than to Joe to me.
High5
Whoever wrote that must have forgotten about Bibby. He's top 10 without a doubt and could honestly be #6 or #7. I'm fine with the top 5 except I might be tempted to swap Josh and Sap. That's a tough one. Edited September 1, 2015 by High5
Randy
No Jordan Crawford? :-) It does seem like a tossup between Joe and Al for No. 1. Joe might have been even better (in his prime) with our current coaching staff and same type of roster construction. Josh would have probably never fit in with the current staff though. I don't see Childress or Marvin deserving to be on any list. I'd just stop at 8 or something. Bibby was sort of the final ingredient needed to turn the Hawks into a winner and playoff team as I recall. One problem with a list like this is that its really hard to compare a guy that played 140 games to one that played over 600.

Maybe they could put Harry the Hawk and Chris Tucker in theh 9 and 10 slots. I mean they are fan favorites!
TheFuzz
Horford should be #1, Teague and Sap should be ahead of Josh. I didn't/don't hate Smoove, but Sap and Teague are both all-stars, Josh never was. Agree that Bibby and Zaza should be higher (as in on the list, lol).
