Payne was as bad a pick as Sheldon was.  Was never going to be worth where he was drafted.

I never got enough love for being right on Payne.

Spellman raving = Collins trading.

Spellman is going to be a stretch ball 5. He has the body to do so

Yes.

Bud realized that about 5 minutes into the season.  Not sure I've seen many top 15 rookies in their 20's benched the way Payne was.

Bud's best move as POBO - didn't waste time trying to develop him and we noe have Huerter with the pick.

No doubt.  I praised Budcox for that one and they deserved the praise.  Many of the other moves?  Not so much.

Dude has not played one minute in an actual NBA game - not gonna happen.

Collins - PF,  Spellman - C.

When was the last time a franchise raved about the 30th pick of the draft?

Lol, doesn't mean you trade Collins.

Kevon Looney in GSW,  Josh Hart in LAL most recently.

Nope but the Lakers raved about Kyle Kuzma last year

Yep.  We did:

GM Billy Knight - Press Release

Stoudamire led the nation in three-point percentage last season (.504), and was
named a Second Team All-American by AP and USBWA. He also earned First Team John
R. Wooden Award All-American mention and First Team All-Pac-10 honors. The
sharpshooter finished his career in ninth place in NCAA history in career
three-point field goal percentage (.458) and tied for 18th in career three-point
field goals made (342). He ranks as Arizona's fourth all-time leading scorer
with 1,960 career points.

"We think Salim was the best shooter in college basketball last season, and is a
threat anytime he's on the floor," Knight said. "His ability to shoot the
basketball addresses one of our needs immediately. He's a competitor who raises
his level of play during crunch time."

Hawks PR:

Stoudamire a Shooting Star

"Stoudamire is the pick for Atlanta at 31! All you need to know about
Salim getting picked is that the Hawks ranked last in the league last year in
3-pt FG percentage, while Stoudamire led the nation (that's over 300 teams
playing Division I basketball) in that category. Stoudamire, who made 3.3
three-pointers a game for the Wildcats last season (good enough for 9th
nationally), shot an incredible 50% from three point range. That is an amazing
statistic at any level, let alone for a major college player. Stoudamire figures
to drastically improve the Hawks perimeter game next season."

Nique:

DW:  "I think the guy we got at 31 is a hired gun. He can make
shots. He is very quick, and he is one of these lefties who is very tough to
defend. He's a guy who is going to be good for us, no doubt."

Why is it so tough to defend a left-hander?

DW: You aren't used to seeing them. You don't expect to see them shoot
the way they do. This kid may end up being a well-kept secret, and so far I
definitely think we have gotten the players we wanted to get.

Vitale called Salim the steal of the draft, he was positively as a pick by pretty much all the press, etc.

I’m sorry I was out getting balloons ? for the Jamal/Brad party ? on the other island ?...you see..long story short, one day Brad had a genuiiiissss idea ? to start a thread about the 2018 draft....anyways long story short, he’s not an improver but an inventor!

ps What did I miss here. Wait...I’m Conan? Um ? I think that’s alllll @hazer...it’s kinda like comparing Draymond Green to Spellman...it’s a perfect match made in heaven.

Awesome ? stuff! He broke a Hawks record by diving to the finish line..I can’t love that enough. And he talks to himself. Might have to get a Spellman jersey along with my Trae!

LETS GO HAWKS!!!

In honor of Spellman, I had a hyphy silent convo with myself in the gym today...I was very adamant about the situation...needless to say..that stuff puts people on alert if nothing else.

That's before he step foot in the NBA. Not after he is there
