I’m on board with a team friendly deal for Jabari..like a 2 year deal or 2 years for Marcus Smart. Cheap deals though not forsaking the future.

FYI . . . only 4 teams have cap space right now to sign free agents on the market to significant contracts

Chicago - 15.39 mill

Dallas - 13.08 million

Lakers have .39 million

 

Those are the only 5 with cap space.  So here's where the bad contracts and the ability for those top 4 teams come in.   If a guy like Capela at least wants a 4/60 deal, only 3 teams currently can make a play for him.   But if one of the teams over the cap want to free up space, they can get those top 3 teams involved in a deal, so that the can sign Capela to the deal he wants.

Wow . . . think about all of that money Isaiah Thomas lost out on.  He went from thinking that he was about to get a supermax deal, to essentially a piecemeal deal of probably the MLE for 1 year . . . if that.   

Capela will probably have to take what Houston is offering.  If he can negotiate an early option, that may to his advantage.  Then again, he could be cutting his deal in half, if the Rockets decide not to pick up the team option ( if he wants a player option ).

Capela might be better served taking the QO and becoming an UFA next offseason.

Interesting. I didn’t know RFA can only sign minimum 3...that kind or sucks. So does this one year to one year bs contract. That’s how we build dumb super teams. Smh

Dang it. I knew it would be an extremely low chance but I was hoping we landed Luc! He was one of my 4 free agents desired. Dang, Jerry West strikes again. Now Luc teaches Robinson and SGA how to D up. I wanted him tutoring Huerter and being an extension of Lloyd Pierce on the floor at times running the D. Oh well.
