Believe!!! - The Good JuJu thread.

This "Believe" thing has really been sticking with me the last few weeks. There is a best selling book that's been out for a few years called, "The Secret". There were a few movies about it, its not a new concept. But before I offer this, if you haven't read it or seen the original documentary/video about it or seen the most recent movie based on it (The Secret: Dare to Dream), take some time and do a smidge of research. If nothing else, it can have a great impact in your relationships when you operate with belief, positivity and gratefulness.

"The Secret" is an exploration of the Law of Attraction and its role in your perceptions. You get what you put out there. If you are positive, positivity comes back. If you expect the worst, that is what you get. The universe works that way, most major religions have some element of the The Secret built into their systems.

Visualizing what you want to the point you believe you already have it is one of the major premises to The Secret. It's kind of like daydreaming but to a point you can feel what its like to have it, making it real. Like seeing the shot go in before taking it, feeling the joy before hitting the game winner.

Last night, looking in the eyes of LouWill and Trae, they 100% believed in the comeback. There was no fear, no doubt. Looking at Ben Simmons eyes every time he stepped to the free throw line, he was riddled with doubt...so much so he didn't even want to touch the ball in the final quarter. He avoided it.

 

So lets create a group experiment, what do you believe about this post season. What do you see happening? What can you envision?  All positive, all good things. What do you believe?

 

I believe the Hawks will win game 6 tomorrow and I think they'll win the next series in 6 as well.

I always believe in the best....I believe in a championship but I don't want to jump too far yet so for now I will believe in the Hawks finally putting together a complete game. Hitting their open shots, attacking the basket, playing perimeter defense...I will believe that Capella take his diapers off and put on some pants and stand up against his evil stepdaddy. I believe in Nate, the team, and us!!!!

This is a strange season.  I've had this feeling that we could actually win it all.  The super teams are not at full strength.  We are getting into rhythm at the right time.  Let's have that mentality.  We can go the distance.  Believe.

this is a golden opportunity to win a chip and what's great about it the chip on the shoulder will carry over to next year because everyone will be chirping about "no lebron no this no that"

Absolutely it's a real thing IMO. When you have the entire city believing, the entire team believing, special things happen. It's not pseudo sciencie either look at the other side of the isle, look at the what it did to the Sixers when not only their players but their fans gave up. The game was DONE. It all starts from the neck up, especially at this level of the NBA where the difference in ability is so marginal, the edge is mental 100%

Remember a child's story about the little train:  Coming up the mountain, slowly we hear, "I think I can, I think I can."  Over the top and going down the other side, we hear, very fast, "Thought I could, Thought I could!"  

Last night, 4th quarter winding down, we could hear our little train - - "Thought I could, Thought I could!!"  There yet remains that final second round victory.  76ers must win 2 or the Hawks must win one!

I believe we're the better team.   I believe if we play our game we can beat anyone.   I believe because i've seen it.   

I'd offer that in addition to believing what we've seen is Nate's 3 Cs at play.   Down 26?  Just play every possession, keep grinding, don't look at the scoreboard.  What i saw starting in the late 3rd were guys who were going to grind and not worry about the outcome.  Let that take care of itself.

I read “The Force” as a kid.  I guess it’s similar to “The Secret” but more of a scientific slant/ no religion.  There’s no way to prove the “law of attraction” is real in human sociology and psychology  based on the scientific method but it’s great to live your life in that fashion.  The best advice I can give someone is try to keep only cotton fabrics on your skin, don’t wear acidic colors, and banish negative thoughts from your mind when anger isn’t helpful.  And of course eat from the Earth as much as possible.

As far as these Hawks they stopped surprising me some time ago.  I think they're gonna kick everyone’s ass.  Nate just has a genius level mix of old and new school ideals in his philosophy and this chemistry is almost at Pre-KD Warriors level.  If the assists were +25 a night they’d be there.  
 

A lot of athletes pay lip service to playing till the end with “gotta get 27 outs, we gonna grind for 60 minutes/ till the buzzer”   This team IS that ideal.

One trait that is consistent among wealthy individuals is that they believed it was possible for them to become rich.  How many wealthy people told themselves, "I will never get rich"?  Believing is a huge factor in achieving.

It's not the exact same thing but in the book Peak Performance by Brad Stulberg, which I 100% recommend to anyone, he says that there was a study that proved that high performance athletes tend to believe in some sort of idea bigger than themselves, whether it's faith or some other belief.

No matter what happens this has been a great season and great post season. The team has shown they are now as good as we expected and show lots of heart and fight. Trae is now a legit superstar and the team is really coming together.
