DJlaysitup
Aw man, my wingspan is only 1.0x my height. I'm a Neanderthal. DJ I wish you hadn't brought this up. I wasn't going to try it, but it was easy that a cave man could do it. No worries Randy...recent scientific studies have shown that Neanderthals were probably pretty smart. You don't take down a Wooly Mammoth by yourself...it takes planning and some strategy. As far as sports - with your wingspan - you may want to take up "Curling" - the sport where they push rocks down the ice - invented by Ogg in 200,00 B.C. (recent analysis of cave drawings show that the most accurate "rock pushers" always got the prettiest Gals).
Premium Member Diesel Posted July 21, 2015 Premium Member Report Share Posted July 21, 2015 This particular thread (or atleast the start of it) got me to thinking about wingspan as one of the most important measurables we use. When you talk about defending the passing lanes and being good team defenders, you want somebody with a good wingspan. The Hawks/Spurs system is filled with that. More specifically, we always talk about Dennis but look at Teague, Baze, and Thabo. We are talking about guys who are sick with the wingspan and with just a little bit of training and effort, can be great p-lane defenders. Leads to the question... who else can be one of these wingspan guys that we can think about?? Rondae Hollis Jefferson. He's nothing really special but this guy has wingspan like an eagle. Kelly Oubre... Yep.. Everybody's regret does have wingspan. Chris Walker... I don't know if this guy was drafted but his wingspan and size.... if he had any ability to shoot, he could be a really good defensive Sf. Jarnell Stokes. Big long armed guy... PF or C. Mamadou Ndiaye? Still in College? Him vs. Walter will be a site.
RandomFan
I've updated this to include the new draft picks and the additions we made during the season last year. It's funny that Bazemore is the 2nd shortest person on the roster right now, since Cordinier isn't coming over until 2017. I think more likely it was 2.6 inches and 3.15 inches. Either that or someone else did his vertical leap measurements for him.

Still has some value if he can get on the floor at all and play defense in the paint. Humph would be a much better option for us though.
Bankingitbig
I thought Kent Bazemore was 6'5"? I guess that is with shoes and you have their height listed as without shoes?

He always looked a little small on the court, especially when you compared him to some of the bigger wings he's had to guard. His long wingspan makes up for a lot of that but I always looked at him as a shooting guard and not a 3...

He's an example of a good team player (doesn't act disgruntled or say stuff about playing out of position).
