Way too early for me to offer an opinion. I know what I'd like to see happen, but guys have to earn their spots... in particular, it will matter how quickly, if at all, Prince asserts himself.

I'll roll with Baze and Sef around Halloween, then Baze and Prince by mid-season.

I'm fine with Kowl starting at the outset alongside Baze, especially now that he (like Junior, and Thabo) has got his full offseason regimen going. But I feel like the mileage he puts on doing what he does so well would be best suited for a sparkplug role off the bench, especially as he approaches 36 years young. Only slightly more of a spring chicken, Thabo can help set the defensive tone early and late (if need be), but both of those savvy vets should be ceding floortime (once it's earned) to Prince, Junior, and/or FroFoSho as the season wears on. Baze of course being the constant in the mix.

Apples and pomegranates, but I was just checking out ("The Next", "cough") Kawhi Leonard's rookie season in San An. The KLaw wasn't a starter until Game #10 of the (strike-shortened) 2011-12 season, at first playing behind Ginobili and Gary Neal. Pop then put Leonard back on the bench (amid an 11-game winning streak!) in favor of the emerging virtual-rookie Danny Green, before growing comfy with the notion that both Green and Kawhi could start together on a title-contending team. Manu's early-season oblique and hand injuries rushed both players into heavier rotation minutes, but Pop and Bud had to like what they saw. The Spurs went 21-3 with both Green and Leonard starting (29-13 otherwise, which wasn't too shabby, either), then went all the way to the WCF undefeated in the playoffs, going up 2-zip on OKC before the wheels finally fell off.

1. Kyle(SG) and Baze(SF) to start the season -  we are incorporating a new starting  PG and C,  along with a variation of the offense, this will help ease the transition with 3 returning starters from last season. (Kyle maxes out at 25 minutes ppg).

2. Baze (SG) and Thabo(SF) by January - Kyle moves to bench, Thabo starts to give Prince more minutes at backup.

3. Baze(SG) and Prince(SF) after Allstar break.

  • I would like to see Baze at SG & Prince at SF....and it would be great if that could be as early as the season starts. So Im hoping our young rookie Prince really shows he can be a day 1 starter during training camp and preseason games...as well as the rest of the season
  • By the way I don't agree with getting rid of sefelosha or korver  but then again I don't believe in overpaying either one at the same time. Prince, Bembry, THJ are all good players that can grow under Bud in my opinion and will be the face of the hawks along with Dennis in the future.
  • Also one last note I want to make on Korver...I definitely think Korver has the BBIQ to retain his starter position after all he is smart offensively & defensively though he lacks the athleticism to be a good one on one defender.... but regardless of his smarts I do believe Bud is going to be see right away that Prince and Bombay's defense is a lot better individually than Korvers though they aren't no where near as good as shooters as korver, their shots are badly broken where they cant make a difference with their shots.

I think lots of people miss that we need Korver's shooting to help our spacing.   Teams can't just fall to the middle if Korver is on the floor.   I think that there will be time to do some things with Prince.  However, I see Korver, followed by THJr so that we will always have an outside shooting threat.   Having D8 will automatically help the defense.  Remember, we were one of the better defensive teams with Korver... and that was with Horf soft rebounding... and average man to man against Bigs.   Wait til they get a load of D8!!

I think you start the season with Dennis at 1, Baze at 2, Thabo at 3, Sap at 4, and D8 in the middle.

If a rookie really emerges Thabo goes to the bench or if TH2 blows up in year two maybe roll Baze down to the three.

we have so many options if things work out we will be deep flexible and hard as hell to defend with an elite defensive team.

SG - Baze (Best two way option at SG)

SF - Prince (Can't teach size and I like his 3 and D skillset)

Korver can sub out with Baze and Thabo can sub out with Prince.

Hardaway better step up this year or Bremby going to take his spot eventually.

I'm hopping for a big jump for TH2 this year he showed flashes after the all star break last year and apparently had a groin injury late in the year and playoffs.  I know how bad those hurt from personal experience it makes it painful to do everything .  I pulled my groin wrestling and it ruined a whole season never healed until I stopped doing anything for weeks.

I think he understands the system now and will play much faster and more fluid which should help his shot and increase confidence.

if he does Baze can take the three spot and Thabo can be a stopper and defensive specialist.

i think Thabo may start at the three to start the year with Baze at the two.   I really at his age Kyle needs to be a sixth man.

I really want prince to emerge and take Thabo's job at the three by the all star break though and hopefully Bembry is ready to  give some quality minutes too

if prince is ready fast a second unit of Jack/Delaney, TH2, Thabo/Bembry, Hump and Tiago is strong and we crazy flexibility.

Would anyone be interested in Dion Waiters on a cheap deal for depth?

I actually like his game but we already have too many players so not sure who we let go besides Scott if he is heading to jail or a long suspension
