How worried are you as a Hawks fan about Dennis and his play? Should we be expecting erratic play? Should we expect more? Does he shoot too much? Is he playing just fine?

I will say I am about a 6 on the concern level. Again flashes of brilliance but he is so inconsistent...Drive me crazy! What say you Hawks Fans?

This is at the least of my concerns. I'm more concerned about how awful Kent and Kyle have been.

Enough. With. This. Idea. That. Kent. Bazemore. Is. Good. Against. Big. Small. Forwards. Enough! ENOUGH! He sucks against them. Kent or Kyle need to go to the bench immediately.

He will be ok. He's going to have ups and downs. Hopefully he responds well and comes back better. If he sulks or pouts he's done. But I think he has enough confidence in himself to bounce back.

I think Kent and Kyle are giving us exactly what they always have. I said 100 times last year that Kent is not a starting small forward and Kyle is a specialist that starts due to no real talent at the 2. Hardaway should be starting in Kyle's spot and Baze should have never been paid as much as we gave him. Nice guy or not.

With a young player, you're going to have ups and downs. The young player has to come back better from the down periods to be a good player.

First season as a starter what do you expect?

Idk if it's right from Bud to keep him completely out of the game if things don't work out for one night. I mean as you know Dennis is all about confidence. I'm not sure if he can handle such coach decisions well.

You know Bud is a no nonsense coach when it comes to how he wants things run. This is a tough lesson but it's exactly what Pop would have done. Heck, Pop benched his entire starting lineup.

Last years he played most of the time along Al Horford and they clicked really well. Whenever plays with Korver/Bench didnt pan out their two-man game usualy salvaged the possession. He played a bit less alongside Millsap. So what we have is a group of starters, of whom 4 are spescialist type players, who really need to work things out. And thats not easy, even for pro's. You can also hear this from interviews from Bud or the round bald guy, stating things like trying to involve new plays each game. Like those weaves towards the post Dennis got stuck up in with his butt sticking out proteceting the ball. The plan obviously is to get Howard much more involved in the offense than he has been in the recent past. And so this often doesnt work out as well as planned and you get Howard making bad shots as well.

We did win allot of games and the talent-level of the starters has allot to do with that, so that isnt the issue. Im however worried about seeing little progress, but a bit of regress. But I guess thats also part of what it takes.

John Stockton made a living in the pick n roll. With Dennis' speed, it should be easier than a Kardashian. Pick, push hard towards the rim, make a decision.

Every time I see Dennis try to get fancy with the hard push right, pull up jumper inside the 3 point line I want to punch my television.

Somebody needs to grab Dennis by the ears and say, "penetrate, penetrate, penetrate until they are forced to lay off of you". It isn't how much he shoots that's killing me, it is how much he is forcing the shot.

The reason he forces those are exactly to pentrate more effectively. I heard away announcers talking about his "improved shooting, also from 3", so thats really what you want for the long haul: people starting to respect your shooting pre-game already or early in the game to set the tone. As such that threath for defenses makes penetrating easier. However he missed wide open 3's early in the game last 2, so I guess that upset him, forcing the issue later on and made penetrating allot more difficult. In such games he just needs to relax and just get others involved and wait for the moments.

That being said, I think the issue is not "unwillingness" but experience and level-headedness. Sometimes you can clearly see this being an issue, like that deep covered 3 he shot early in the clock, because guys didnt move like he wanted to. He looses his cool to often and starts being a negative nancy.

He'll be fine.   Thank god for Delaney though.   Dennis will be seriously balling by February.   the Sap/Howard tandem is still out of sync and Korver / Baze aren't really contributing consistently on offense.   Bud will get it working for sure and when he does Dennis will shine.
