So when we hit that first losing streak of any significance, and we will, I also won't be calling out the pouters at the other extreme.

My, my.  How the meaning of words have changed over the years.  When I was a young lad, Pot was something my mom cooked beans in.  Grass was on the lawn and you mowed it with a push mower.

Petty was someone being a baby, wanted to be consoled when they had their feelings hurt or they stumped their toe.  Then, I read that our rookie PG is being petty.  I expected to see a picture of him, sitting on the bench, sucking his thumb.

I know.  I'm old.  I have grand children older than some of you.  But, please.  Don't frighten the old man this way....

I think I may have inadvertently started a tangent, but for the record, Jeff Van Gundy doesn't impress me as someone who would have ever seen a marathon. :)

That's gamesmanship.  What Matthews did/was doing was trying to get in the rookie's head.  He was just messing with him back.  It was brilliant.
