With the next pick, the Atlanta Air Force selects

Mo Bamba

Look at the long arms on this guy! No offense to Stacy Augmon, but Mo is the real Plastic man.
header.jpgCharmingShoddyBobwhite-max-1mb.gif
He has 7'10 wingspan, the longest in the NBA.
Bamba's value on offense shows on dump downs, lobs and teammates' misses. With incredible length and mobility, he gets up high above the rim. Bamba isn't known as a scorer, but there were glimpses of over-the-shoulder hook shots in the post. His shooting touch was the more intriguing development, though, as Bamba made 20 three-pointers, looking comfortable and balanced when releasing.  On the other side of the court ,Bamba has Defensive Player of the Year potential. He shows some impressive lateral foot speed, allowing him to switch out and do a respectable job of containing in space.

With the 97th Pick in the Tenth Round of the 2019 Hawksquawk Summer Dynasty Draft, Lethal Nas X selects:

480258061.jpg.0.jpg

De’Andre, my dear rookie, I promise you, Coach Tony B hasn’t asked us to draft UVa alums like Malcolm Brogdon just to babysit you. But we’re gonna have another Cav, by bringing Joseph Malcolm Harris (Shooting Guard/Small Forward, 6’6”, 220 lbs., Age 28 as of 10/1/2019) into the fold. Our bench is bound to have that Cavalier attitude!

Joe Harris ALMOST had one of the most memorable end-to-end seasons for a perimeter shooter in League history. A 47.4 3FG% paced the Dynasty League. No only that, he faced off against Steph Curry, in Curry Country, and came away with the Three-Point Shootout trophy. He shot 54.4 3FG% is his final ten appearances, helping his Brooklynite mates close out 2019-20 with a winning record and push his franchise’s plans to build for future postseasons ahead of schedule.

Then came those Playoffs.

Joe’s sank three of his first four jumpers above-the-break in the first quarter, throwing off the hosts as Harris’ squad stole Game 1 of the opening-round series, and homecourt advantage over Joel Embiid’s club. Then Jimmy Butler and company clamped down on him defensively. With defenders sticking to him like brown on wild rice, Harris missed his next 13 3-point attempts, going just 1-for-17 in Games 2 through 5, and his team never won again.

In this sport, it has become easier than ever to Live by The Three, and fans and free agents alike are banking on longevity by the hair of Joe’s chinny-chin-chin. Harris’ new scruffy beard became a hallmark of his team’s grittier disposition this past season. But going forward as he enters his sixth pro season, Harris must add to aspects of his game if he is to be perceived as anything more than a bench-worthy sniper specialist.

Joe attempted to cut toward the hoop with greater regularity, 80.1 percent of his two-point shots assisted as his proportion of two-point attempts increased significantly, despite his career-best marksmanship from outside. But he has yet to prove himself an effective passer at this level. His turnover percentage has exceeded his assist percentage in all five seasons as a pro.

He has the size to rebound and defend adequately, but a 10.9 D-Reb% isn’t enough, nor is a minus-1.65 Defensive RPM, one of the worst marks at his position. He lacks an impressive wingspan and needs to use his feet to better stay in front of his man.

LNX Coach Nick Nurse loves having floor-spreading shooter threats, and he can’t do much better than a guy who now ranks 4th among active players in 3FG%. Fellow UVa alums Malcolm Brogdon and De’Andre Hunter are good enough to cover and recover for Harris with the second unit. But he must make strides on the defensive end and as a secondary passer if he can be trusted for meaningful minutes alongside Kemba Walker and the LNX top line.

When the Dynasty League Playoffs arrive, and outcomes come down to a close shave, the bearded Harris’ jumpshot may prove useful, but LNX won’t want to risk putting itself in a hairy situation.

It's Euro time, in this case Italian. This Ferrari is in the shop a lot but he can go. Danillo Galinari is really a good player. A knock down shooter and underrated defender. He's does get hurt a lot, so let's hope he stays healthy.

With the 100th pick in the 2019 Dynasty Draft the Flocking Buzzards select Jaxson Hayes. Hayes is raw but has plenty of time to develop behind my young front court. One day he and JJJ will give me two superb athletes with length to throw at teams years down the road. The league is getting bigger and more mobile with every passing season. I think Jaxson fits the modern NBA to a T.

I liked Jaxson's game during the 2019 regular College season and I liked it in Summer League. He is a player who shows up and plays hard Please welcome to the Flock Jaxson Hayes.

With the 101st pick in the 2019 Dynasty Draft the Flocking Buzzards select Rui Hachimura. Solidifying our defensive lineup with the last pick, I am reaching for some offensive firepower at SF, who was also the best Comb Forward in College Basketball last season. He brings pure effort and efficiency on every play. I am more than willing to let him develop behind Warren and Kuzma. I liked what Rui did during the 2019 regular College Season. I liked what he did in the NCAA Tourney, and I liked what he did in Summer League. Please welcome to the Flock Rui Hachimura!

@bleachkit is up and has been sent a PM,

I’m a big fan of Hachi. I think he’s a good humble kid with some solid fundy moves ala Tim Duncan (the moves not comparing them directly). You not only drafted a player but a nation 🇯🇵 Nice work.

The NBA East is hanging tough! This, despite one team having no players/coaches among the first 100 picks. Further, despite the reigning NBA champion having only 2 players selected thus far, the Atlantic holds a slim lead among players picked across all divisions.

EASTERN CONFERENCE: 48 players (19 Atlantic, 16 Central, 13 Southeast), 2 coaches

WESTERN CONFERENCE: 50 players (18 Pacific, 16 Northwest, 16 Southwest), 1 coach

TOP NBA TEAMS:

6 players: PELICANS

5 players: HAWKS, CELTICS, PACERS, 76ERS, KINGS

4 players: NETS, BULLS, MAGIC, NUGGETS, WARRIORS, CLIPPERS, THUNDER

I completely understand him going after DeAndre and his 3D potential, but I like Rui's game a lot also.

It Euro time again, this time visiting the small Eastern European nation of Croatia. But this is no Yugo, this is actually quite a nice ride. And don't be fooled by his humble demeanor, he can flat out ball. Dismissed as an "ordinary looking white guy" by ignorant, low information fans, he really showed out last year with 18 pts pg on 50% from the field and 42.5% from deep, stepping up for his team when a more prominent role was called upon due to injuries.

Bojan is a very good pick this late. Nothing but solid as far as a offensive player goes.

I don’t understand how Domantus Sabonis is still on the board.  Hence Capstone’s crew is fixing that.  We are getting this skilled big man who will play center or power forward for us.  We get scoring / rebounding and play making from our big.  His D isn’t the strongest but he will be surrounded by defenders so that won’t be an issue at all.  We are excited to get him.
