Training Camp News: Injury Report

On Friday, the Hawks announced that Reddish has been “fully cleared to resume on-court activities and will participate in the upcoming training camp” with the caveat that “he will remain on a load monitoring plan with bulk volume restrictions.”

That is unquestionably positive news for Atlanta but, elsewhere, the Hawks provided an extensive injury update before training camp begins.

 

Not so good news:

The update indicates that both John Collins and Kevin Huerter are battling injury issues ahead of camp, with Collins expressing “discomfort in his right hip” and Huerter arriving with knee pain. Collins underwent an MRI on Wednesday but, at this point, the Hawks indicate that he is “able to participate in on-court activities within prescribed rehab limitations and his on-court loads and intensities will be increased” as training camp progresses. 

As for Huerter, an MRI cleared him of any structural damage and, in the wake of that clarity, he’s been treated to “reduce inflammation and increase his load tolerance.” That allows him to participate in training camp but, like Collins, a further update will come to light at the conclusion of camp.

Chandler Parsons will be limited in camp, preseason, the regular season, the next offseason, the next preseason, the next regular season, in office softball games, in three legged sack races, and in church pickup games.  Indefinitely.

I don't like it that Len is hurt, we are already thin as Heck at the 5 spot.  Schlenk should go ahead & get another Center on the roster.  Gortat is still out there.  Would not hurt to give him a Partially Guaranteed deal.

No need to rush it unless Len is expected to miss time.

Give Noah a shot. 7/6 in 16 minutes last year with a 2.89 DRPM. He's still a very serviecable big and I love some energy guys off the bench.

After he gets his 25 mill from the Hawks this season, he would have made 127 MILLION DOLLARS

in 9 years in the NBA, while playing in less than 500 games.

Len better come back soon.  Because once Bruno gets into that starting lineup, he's not coming back out.
