Popular Post NERMAN
Embiid looked completely gassed in the 2nd half of Game 4. Now he only gets 1 day to rest. “Making his job tougher, contesting everything, making him work. I saw that whenever you wear him out, everything becomes tougher for him. I knew that it was a long series. When the fatigue comes in, it’s a different ballgame,” Capela said. I was one of the folks that thought Joel had completely gotten into Clint's head but now that dynamic seems to be shifting. I just hope he can stay out of foul trouble in Philly.
Premium Member Atlantaholic Posted June 16, 2021 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 16, 2021 There was clearly something there physically with Embiid. Not complaining or making excuses, but it was clearly more than just fatigue IMO. You could see the air of confidence squeeze out of Philly after every Embiid miss. Will be fascinating to see how he comes out tonight and how Philly responds.
Moderators Popular Post AHF Posted June 16, 2021 Moderators Popular Post Report Share Posted June 16, 2021 Fully agree we need to make Embiid run, chase people, and constantly have to deal with the pnr action. Where we can, we need to challenge him and make him really push himself physically.
Premium Member Popular Post Diesel Posted June 16, 2021 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted June 16, 2021 I would say for the first quarter, we run everything at Embiid. Make him work. I like how we switched off Trae to Embiid in the first quarter. Sure Embiid does a good job of covering Trae on spot duty... I would see how he does trying to cover him for the whole first quarter. Put him out there on the island and see how he responds in the 2nd. Doc got them switching on the PNR... OK... Clint/Trae PNR every play down and when you get Embiid, try to run him.

Draymond Green said before the series that Trae getting Embiid in the PNR could cause a lot of trouble. When Embiid gets switched on to Trae make him chase. Additionally look for Simmons to be aggressive on offense. Send his butt to the line if we can afford the fouls. Take him out of the game mentally by forcing him to make free throws. Harris and Curry are the ones that concern me.
RedDawg#8
All of this. If they are going to keep trotting him out there on a bum knee then make him use it, make him move around. No mercy. Clint has me pumped because he rarely speaks or talks smack, but when he does, he knows exactly what he is talking about and feels confident in it. So that tells me he saw something in Embiid last game that he feels good about. And mental edge is just as important as physical edge when you talk about playoff matchups. Clint figured something out

Popular Post Final_quest
That message clearly got in Embiid's head. Ironically he unloaded his clip to prove Clint wrong, and then his legs were gone in the 4th quarter again. Wow. The blend of Hack a Ben and Embiid wearing out killed the Sixers last night. Game 6 is gonna be fascinating. Will the Sixers lay down? Or will they experiment with new looks and throw their rhythm off? Will they respond with an effective strategy like saving some energy for Embiid to play better to close out the game? I think they can try running the offense through Harris and Curry early on and save Embiid's energy for the end. Ben Simmons is exposed like Randle. Another star that Trae put in his rear view. Can either of them be included on a list of best NBA players ahead of Trae now? Ironically I could see people do it anyways. 4

Dejay
Clint doing his best rope-a-dope impersonation the last two games. Hopefully, the Hawks can deliver the knockout blow tomorrow night...
