Dude plays 35 MPG and barely averages 2 APG and 3 boards. His offensive game is worthless if he is having a poor offensive night because he is not going to make his teammates better. And you don't trade big for small unless you're clearly getting the better player and that simply is not the case here.

A, he is rarely off on his outside shot, B, he drives to the hole hard after shot fakes on lots of plays and scores or gets fouled, C, he is the off guard in an offense which Stephen Curry is the playmaker, how many assists do you want from Klay, 10? Once he is on a team that needs him to set guys up more he will, and Z, his presence alone is helping his teammates out by creating open space for them, much like Korver does for us. Do you really think Millsap has all that space to work with for nothing, no, it's the presence of our outside shooting in Korver.

I guess time will tell but Klay is the real deal. Just for the record, I love Horford. It would be tough for me to part with the guy but if it can make us a better team, I'd have to do it.

I'd take Klay and Draymond Green over Klay and Lee. Prolly take Klay and Green over Horford and Parsons but that'd be tough. Green is a kind of Warrior(no pun intended) that you want on your team. Defensive guy that has your back. He's all about winning.

Iheartferry and ibelieveinferry are y'all cousins?

No problem, I know how frustrating it can be. @kg01 did have a grand ole time yucking it up at your expense. Lol

Bebe is going to be a player for us. Tavares who knows but Bebe should be much farther along.

If that were true about Klay then he wouldn't be so highly sought after. He's a damn fine player and he'd be incredible in our system.

It's not debatable that his passing and rebounding skills are mediocre. He plays a ton of minutes and he is mediocre at both. He is mostly a one trick pony player. Watching him jacking up shots on another team is fun, but when you know that he will be doing it on your team it is a different story.

There is no proof that Bebe is going to be anything special.

Even if you ignore that GS would be getting the better player, you know you have to pay Thompson the big bucks soon and he is not worth it.

I never watch Golden State so I depend upon others who have watched this guy play.. My problem with you is I have no idea if what you say is indeed fact , or it might be the result of a normal foul mood that comes with your regular monthly cycle

You do know  Klay Thompson is one of Golden State's best defenders right? In no way shape or form is he a one trick pony. You describe him like he's Kevin Martin and Klay is much better than him.

He averages 2 free throws per game while playing 35 MPG. Please don't pretend that he is some sort of free throw machine that draws a lot of fouls. He is also fairly foul prone on his own.

Sorry, but I'm going to say that I doubt his abilities to set up teammates.

The way some on here are talking him up it makes one wonder why not keep him instead of Curry.. its a two way problem and not sure which one is closer to the truth

The Warriors defense is nothing with Bogut. They gave up 108 PPG in the playoffs without him.

Reddick and Crawford ate Thompson for lunch in the playoffs.

Crawford:

24 MPG

16.7 PPG

44% FG

38% 3's

Reddick:

29 MPG

14.3 PPG

46% FG

39% 3pt

Not even that. Stats from last year:

Klay Thompson:

0-3 feet: 13.5% of shots

Chandler Parsons:

0-3 feet: 33.3% of shots

Parsons attacks way more and is very good 3pt shooter.

This just tells me you've never watched Klay play before. That's what I'm gettin here.

Naw, I kinda agree with Klay, while I think he's a top 5 SG, I think it's because of the team he's on as well. He's not forced to be the #1 option as he would in Atlanta and being good on D would be harder  when you are in the #1 option role. Look at Sap, his D turn into shit when he bacame our #1 option on offense.

Klay is average to below average at everything except defense and 3pt shooting. Doesn't attack enough to be elite. Great off screens and spotting up, but the same can be said for Korver.

Good athlete, Very good shooter, elite man D, good team defender, great off screens and spotting up. He is the ultimate off ball specialist in the NBA right now. I can see why teams like him because it's why i like him. But as a #1 option... I'll pass. This would be like Joe all over again.

I doubt Atlanta would move Al. His injury is a freak injury and it's Atlanta fault for constantly having him out of position. You see how many Hawks got hurt playing Center this year who weren't truly centers.

I guess time will tell. I just would pretty pretty elated to see him in a Hawks uni. Parsons would be my 2nd preference. Both would make me a happy camper. Ya I said happy camper, what? Lol

Can you imagine Klay in Woody's system though? He would basically be a maxed out (salary-wise) spot up shooter on offense in that system. Bud would make Klay look pretty good. I just wish Joe was coached under Bud. He would have been great for us.

His D in the playoffs (when Bogut wasn't there) wasn't very good. The Clippers guards production was almost off the charts. There is a chance he could blow up like Ray Allen did in Seattle, but I'm betting that it does not happen.

The only way I agree with trading Horford is to get a superstar on the level of Kevin Love back here.

Kevin Love is not signing an extension unless it's with a west coast team.

It's not debatable whether his assist and rebound numbers are mediocre. They are.

It IS debatable whether those numbers reflect a lack of skill or whether they reflect an offense predicated around Thompson spending most of his time running cuts 20+ feet from the basket while Curry dishes out 39% of his team's assists and soaks up nearly one-third of his team's possessions.

Stats mean nothing if you aren't applying critical thinking skills to interpret them.

Klay guarded CP3 mostly from what I recall, but otherwise I agree with what you're saying. Klay is a very, very good 3&D type, but he doesn't create enough for me, definitely not enough to deal Horford for...

Which is why I'd rather pursue Hayward and Parsons in that order. I prefer Hayward because he draws fouls, he can run the pick and roll, he's a good defender and he can switch between the 2 and 3 positions, and I honestly think he's comparable with Parsons in just about every other facet of the game he just got smothered playing the #1 option/point forward role for Utah. As a 6th man, Hayward can approximate what current Manu gives the Spurs, perhaps even surpass that. I doubt Utah lets him go, but he's a good enough player that I'd give it a shot before moving on to Parsons or Deng. Hell, I might prefer Hayward at a $9-10M deal to Melo on a $17M deal.
