I could have sworn we had some on here complain about the whole "swipe right" promotion.. This thing has been getting a ton of attention on NBA radio today. I do not think I have heard Bron's name once today! Tell me again how this stupid , moronic , cheezy and so on. Tell me how will you?

Say what you want but the Hawks are being talked about.  They may lead in with the silly-funny Tinder stuff but they leave talking about how well this team is playing.

Add to that I heard the Hawks store was packed with lines out the door - fans buying hawks gear - very nice

Unconventional but effective. They drew over 17k for a mid-week game in January with temperatures dropping into the teens against a squad with no Kobe or Lebron. And from what I've heard from friends who attended the game, yes, there was a loooooonnnnnggggg line at the merchandise store full of folks buying up gear. Not Lebron gear. Not Kobe gear. Hawks' gear. When was the last time that was said on this board?

 

I'd say job well done, marketing department. They got national pub, the team won, and fans thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Think they won't be coming back in April or May, especially if the team keeps winning?

 

Now the rest of the league is now thinking of what Koonin and the gang (wait a sec...I'm trademarking that) will come up with next. Sort of like when Oregon's football team changes uniforms every other game. You don't see Alabama or Texas doing it but Oregon isn't trying to be them. They're trying to beat them...
