Who are you going to waive to get Kevin Martin? Patterson? Moose?

So explain to me why we traded for Hinrich when we could have just kept our 2nd round pick and waived Holiday and had an extra roster spot?   If we get to a point where we need a 3rd PG this season is waaaay over anyway.

My only eggsplanation was that they promised Mack to trade him and give him an opportunity to play.

Also, which one-a you is Brian from Atlanta that always calls into NBARadio crying and whining about the Hawks?  Whoever you are, grow a pair and stop complaining all the time.

Well, we needed a 3rd PG.  Took a Holiday to get one?

He does, even last year when the Hawks were seemingly winning every game.  But, he had a good point today about Millsap not being clutch and Teague's indifference.  I just wish Isola and Mitch would have actually talked about his comments instead of going right back to the Heat or Knicks.

Why is it that no matter the sport Atlanta can never hit a ridiculous clutch  shot like that at the end of games. Not even a normal clutch shot.

I knew that BS was going in right when he launched it.

That is Bull.  All the J-Craw shots?  Smoove tip in.  Joe Johnson buzzer shots.  Kyle last year.     Braves have a bunch of walk off homers in the past.  Sid Bream?  Last year Alford returned a pic in over time for the win.

I ain't gon' lie, when I typed that I figured "Brian" was you.   I was like, man Jody23 gonna rip me a new one.  Yeah he wasn't wrong today, I just hate the whiny voice I guess.  And there was no way they were gonna talk-Hawks when that championship Knix organization is making news. :rollseyes

@macdaddy It was confusing the way it leaked out, but in the end, my understanding was this:

ATL out: Mack + Holliday
ATL in: Hinrich

UTA out: 2nd Rd Pick
UTA in: Mack

CHI out: Hinrich
CHI in: UTA 2nd Rd Pick + Holliday

I believe Budcox perceived letting someone else pay Holliday in order to free up the roster slot they wanted to free up was what tipped the scale in favor of lets-do-this... so in effect, from a Budcox perspective, you might fill in "player to be named later off the waiver wire" on the "ATL in" line.

Lol, nah it ain't me.  If I ever do call, you know I'm shouting out Hawksquawk!

Seriously though, the amount of coverage the Knicks get is sickening.  Isola tries to bring every conversation back to the Knicks some how.  He even does it on PTI sometimes.

I like Isola but it's true he always veers back to the Knicks.  The only saving grace is that he ALWAYS clowns them and their fans.  Bulls too.  It's hilarious.

The other homers tend to talk up their teams unjustifiably.  Stacey King was the worst.  He actually talked up the Hawks at one point.  Not because he actually liked them, but because he refused to give CLE credit for being a good team.

Funny how Stacey hasn't been on in a while.  I guess your team falling out of the playoff picture after you couldn't stop telling everyone how good they were will do that to you.

I am the biggest critic of the Hawks around here.  I was sitting there last night and watched until the end.  I was actually proud of the team overall.  Sure they lost a game they should have won, but crap happens.  They were horrid on the offensive end, but their effort and performance on defense made Golden State look just as bad on offense.  Now if Curry plays last night we are talking blowout city.  Not even gonna talk about the rebounding because Bogut just grabbed another board from sitting on the floor.

Having said this, I still think this team is ultra soft, has no backbone, and zero clutch about them.  First round exit is on the horizon if they make it in.

Hawks are undersized.  This falls directly on the front office. Golden State had a barbecue in the paint. Its frustrating because the Hawks have pieces. Bogut wasnt even jumping. Just standing there and grabbing rebounds.  Bud has ALREADY said he signed Hump because of his outside shooting, so , you KNOW he aint coming in to get rebounds.

Actually, I agree.  I don't know about undersized... I believe maybe weak in the post is a better term.  We need to find some post toughness.  To see them get some many Offensive Rebounds and Points in the paint tells the story of how future teams will attack us.     Many call for a change in personnel.   I say a change in attitude is what's needed at this point.   Kyle, quit escorting people into the lane.  Horf, FIGHT!!

Personnel wise, we missed out on Joe, but he wouldn't have helped this.  I look forward to see what HumpDay will do?

Lol and where has that gotten us? None of those "clutch" moments meant anything. One championship in 50+ years of sports in this city. That's like 200 seasons worth of sports and one championship. I'll give you Sid Bream, but we still didn't even win the World Series that year.

ATL isn't clutch. We had the chance to end a potential NBA record home winning streak but blew that opportunity.

My main point is Atlanta never gets those lucky breaks. That shot by Green was beyond lucky and I've never seen Atlanta pull off some BS like that.

I will say at least all of our clutch moments seem to be based on actual skill lol.

We can get lucky and back into a big moment too but it doesn't happen too often.  Still, we'll always have:

I'll give you that one! Then a week or two later we get Eugene Robinson... It never lasts long.
