Yeah, not sure why they didn't just trade Walter for Karl Anthony Towns.

That sounded not right.. a bit harsh in fact. I never wanna see anyone fail ,  at anything in life. So I hope Edy finds him a niche somewhere or at something.

Pretty sure he will do well enough at home in Spain.

Edy is from Africa

More specifically the African island of Cape Verde, yes. But they speak Portuguese, and he did play Euro ball in Spain :approved:

You guys wasn't watching.  Edy is not so fast.  He's not NBA quality.   He's a project.

Shocked by this, but I agree with Diesel. Two years before Edy was drafted, he never even touched a basketball. We have a win-now mindset which means we don't have roster space for projects. And with Moose bulking up and playing great and Splitter on his way back, there isn't a need for a wasted roster spot. Hopefully a sorry team will pick him up and give him minutes, even if it's only d-league.

Good luck going forward, Edy. You were a fan fave at the least.

Bebe grabbed ten rebounds last night. So between him and the lotto draft pick of Poeltl there is serious competition for a roster spot anytime soon. Believe Edy will be in the D-league all season with that situation unless an injury occurs.

Looks like the Raptors will take a good look at Edy. Bebe and Edy possible teammates.

Just to clarify, Edy signed with our D-League team, Raptors 905, not the Raptors. The Raptors do not have any rights to him, any NBA team could offer Edy a contract. If the Raptors were to have Edy on their roster, they would have to cut someone and then offer him a contract.

With our current C rotation of Valanciunas, Bebe Nogueira, and Jakob Poeltl it's unlikely Edy will ever see the Raptors roster. But there's a good chance another NBA team may take a chance on him perhaps when Jan/Feb rolls around.

The Hawks will have him on speed dial if Splitter can't go, or if we have a rash of injuries amongst our bigs.  This happened last year, which is why Edy played sparingly and Humphries was added to the team.  If Humphries or Moose goes down, Edy will be right back on the Hawks with a 10 day or longer contract.

Wonder how many games of ten minutes or more we do end up getting out of Splitter. Guessing any number of minutes at all keep him on the roster so just don't see Edy coming back this season anyway. See what happens in the offseason with Edy. The Tiago and Humphries big man contracts will be up.

I tried to stay true to my name on this but this game verses the Heat is a perfect example of why I didn't understand about this move. With no big body other than Dwight our biggest weakness that has plagued us which is rebound will again be revealed. The inside defensive presence and (more importantly the size intimidation we had) with D8 and Tavares was key in my opinion. Not to say that I wasn't impressed with Kelly but I knew he couldn't replace Tavares presence. I made the excuse that maybe there were chemistry issues with him and Dwight in practice but without him there is a chink in the armor. Even second tier or less Tavares gave us that intimidation factor off the bench and if you weren't intimidated by his size and skillset he made you think twice next time. Now all the game plan has to be is take out Dwight and we will revert back to the team that can be outboarded no matter how good our defense still is enough multiple shot opportunities can make that null and void which we saw last year from Tristan Thompson. You can't teach size and that will forever be the case and I think we are realizing this season one man can make a difference but two is an issurance policy. SMH to what we choose to value more because defense and in our case rebounding and size will always win championships. I hope we correct our mistakes before it gets too late & atleast replace Splitter with Tavares or a Gobert type of player. Just like Washington with Beal injury "prone" is called that for a reason because it's a constant. If we are serious about a championship & not just coming close (following the norm) yet again we will act accordingly. Time will tell but it's a long series and you have to account for injuries. At every position we are efficient except for a major Dwight loss. I'm a fan of us having Humphries who is also a known rebounder but Tavares kept us over the edge from top to bottom. Where will our edge come from now. Splitter has only been a splinter but he won't really ever intimidate and hurt/scare teams on a constant basis even if he was healthy. Edy was a real munster!!
