Of course we would rather have zero protection on the pick, but this opens a lot of future cap space for us.  This is the first trade I have no reservations about for Schlenk.

With them taking Schroders contract, you were never going to get a lightly protected pick.  The fact that they are getting a first round pick period is a win.

For those not familiar with Anderson, he is a superior athlete, elite defender potential with a raw offensive game. Injuries derailed him going in the lottery in college.  He is a very good get and could be a phenomenal player for us down the road.

Schröder has very little trade value and the Hawks still managed to get some value for him. Schlenk did good here.

No one is saying that Anderson is going to 5 all-star games, but he's a very solid locker room/glue guy.  His defensive value can't be overstated. For 10-15 minutes a night, he could be extremely valuable and he's only 24.
