Can you imagine how much better the Lakers would have been for the last 20 years if they had just committed to Jerry West and let him run the team without interference?

I’m with the ‘good for the offseason news cycle’ bad for the “other” 25 teams take on all the collusion and teaming up.  No coincidence that two non-premium market went from conference and nba contender status to rebuilding this offseason as a premium market went from a bunch of role players to contender status.  This sucks for most of the nba even though this type of drama is perfect for media new cycles l.  I only hope that we aren’t forced to trade Collins, Trae, etc.  because they decide to go join some star in New York or Miami or LA, etc. in a couple years and that if this is the future of the NBA that we can become one of the haves instead of one of the have-nots.

Good call outside of Zubac and Kabengele there’s on Harrell. Might need a big or two.

I disagree with not having Bev in the starting lineup though. I would most definitely start him and have him annoy the other tram while Kawhi and PG13 beast on offense.

They also have a very capable playmaking guard in Shamet.

We should make a nice offer to Zubac that forces them to make a hard choice. No letting him sign for 3 years, $20M or something.

I don’t think we will lose our guys. Something about this rebuild feels like it was built on a good foundation. If anything, our players will dictate swaying good players from other teams to us. Imo.

Specially if it’s true that they might get Cousins. Would Jerry West do his protege in Travis a solid?

3 year 20 mill would be a very sweet contract for us.

Yeah, that team is set.

PG - Patrick Beverly - ( defender/shooter )

G - Kawhi Leonard - ( All-NBA / shooter / scorer / defender )

F - Paul George - ( All-NBA / shooter / scorer / defender )

F - JaMychal Green - ( stretch 4 shooter )

C - Ivica Zubac - ( rim scorer / rebounder )

G - Lou Williams - ( 6th man / professional scorer )

G - Landry Shamet - ( 3 point specialist )

F - Mo Harkless - ( plus defender )

F - Montrezl Harrell - ( high energy rim scorer / rebounder )

C - Mfiondu Kabengele - ( high energy rim protector / stretch 5 potential )

The Clippers are YOUNG, with veteran mix.

I'm having trouble picturing XXL bigs like Zubac on this team, given the philosophies that we've been explicitly hearing come from Hawks central command. It's the same reason I was one of those persuaded they were almost certainly going to find a way to grab Bruno in the draft. They're looking for guys who authentically can switch on defense, yet be good shooters and passers.

(And yes, that's why I don't completely rule out interest in Cousins, even while I mainly rule out any interest in us on his part.)

What am I missing?

Ya I read that too. Again I’m predicting Clippers tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. Clippers have done everything right, have a better supporting cast than the Raps, have an owner that’ll spend in Ballmer, Jerry West in the front office and Doc as the coach. Blue collar roster. Plus he’s in LA, his home town but not playing for his disdained childhood team in the Lakers. Win win for everybody. Toronto won the ring last year, they can’t be mad. Lakers got their guy in AD to go with Lebron. Kawhi can represent the Clipps. Plus it gets him the hell out of the east. I dunno about you, but I don’t wanna face Kawhi 4 times a year, rather twice.

It's official. Jalen Rose is a arsehat.

We were last in paint defense last year.  You can't win like that

That’s a pretty rotation. Dang. Congrats Clippers is all I can say.

I’ve almost became a Kings fan in 1991 (spud) and Clippers fan in 94 (Nique), luckily I stayed with the organization not my beloved guys. Having said that, anytime the Kings and Clippers do well, I don’t mind at all.

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or if you're disagreeing with me... but if the latter, then yes, exactly.... so, you need players who better fit the mold of what Hawks central command say they want to have.

Hope you are right but I bet OKC felt really good about having Durant one game away from a potential championship and making fun of LeBron for wanting to team up before Durant bailed to team up.  Just saying that it is poisonous to the fan bases who watch their guys bail.

Kawhi leaving the defending NBA champs sucks but at least he wasn’t a player Toronto developed.

As an aside, Green is an underrated signing.  With his 3&D every team could use someone like him.

Okay, so the big shoe finally dropped....

Where do we go from here?

Making a trade of our own?

Making an offer on an RFA?

Signing a UFA? Or two? Or even three?
