HATE to be the bearer of bad news but according to a "source" on PTR:

Toronto is suggesting two different trades involving Murray. Here they are:

Option #1

G Dejounte Murray

For

F OG Anunoby

2024 1st round pick

Option #2

G Dejounte Murray

C Jakob Poeltl

For

G Gary Trent Jr.

F/C Precious Achiuwa

C Khem Birch

2024 1st round pick

2026 1st round pick

Yeah, nope...

I think that Toronto is out of the running since the Spurs is trying to tank and Spurs wants 2023 pick

How does everyone know the Spurs want to tank? Just because they dont want JC? Or was it said somewhere? Pop drafted a true PG which he prefers last season, as far as the Murray trade goes..

Yup, especially since Trae cannot guard the point of attack anyways, he usually ends up on a bigger guy that is buried in the corner. This won't change with Murray. It just means we will have much better defender guarding the point of attack now.

Murray would likely get the more ball dominant guard, and Hunter would take the next wing threat with size. Trae will always be guarding the worst of the other team's 1-3.  That's what he does now.

The only way that changes is if Trae get's better on defense or he get's moved. I'll let ya'll decide which is more likely to happen.

Trae will be top 10 in steals this year . . . with or without Murray.

There is the reason why they want Gallo contact versus Collins and that is it.  Plus Hawks have two 2023 that can be used to move up if they dont get the first pick

Murray is a supercharged version of Delon.  So in this scenario . . . deuces Delon.

Peace Out GIFs | Tenor

Delon would be gone as Atlanta can't afford him and his minutes will go down too much

Doesn't Ayton get to choose where he goes and has to approve of the trade?

Can't imagine he wants to go to BKN and be part of a rebuild that has no first round picks anytime soon.

If they are the only team willing to pay him the max, he would go.

Also, Ben Simmons would still be there and Ayton and Simmons may be a good paring if the nets can get competent point guard play.

Good point on the max, but he won't be winning anytime soon there.
