Hawks wake up the day after the deadline at 28-28 in 8th place in the East.  Here's the next 11 games:

• vs SAS (14-41)
• @ CHA (15-41)
• vs NYK (30-26 and 7th in East)
• vs CLE (35-22 and 4th in East)
• vs BKN (33-22 and 5th in East)
• vs WAS (25-29 and 11th in East)
• vs POR (27-28)
• @ MIA (30-25 and 6th in East)
• @ MIA (30-25 and 6th in East)
• @ WAS (25-29 and 11th in East)
• @ WAS (25-29 and 11th in East)

Can they go 8-3 or 9-2 to climb into the Top 6 in the East?  You have to think BKN will start to slide a little with all their upheaval. Cleveland at home is best team but the road games at Miami will be tough.  IF they are going to make a push out of mediocrity, they need to start now.  If they sit here at 6-5 or 5-6 over this stretch (probably the expected outcome) then it's a wrap for getting out of the playin, imo.

There's not going to be another opportunity to move up like this.  Now or never.  In parallel Brooklyn has a TOUGH schedule the next 10 games.

I think it will take all season for a slow climb out of the play-in into the playoffs. But I think that steady climb will continue into the playoffs. It is all about peaking at the right time.

Never predict wins and losses by looking at thus team's upcoming schedule.

Y'all ain't wrong about this team.  It's now or never for sure.  But I agree that the most likely scenario is they stay mid and end up 5-6 or 6-5.  I still have hope that they'll pull it together though.

We had a run the past two seasons after the allstar break.  Plus we have talent on the roster to be better than .500.

There are actual reasons to believe we can finish on a winning note.

Agreed.  But then, there's plenty of reasons we should have a winning record right now instead of being 28-28.  I still believe in the potential of this team, but at some point you are who your record says you are.
