I have a different take.

Joe Johnson = MVP tonight.

Everytime we needed a big shot.. JJ.

Everytime we needed a STOP... JJ.

Josh definitely had the stats and I wondered why WOody didn't let him go for 1 more assist but I guess 2-0 is bigger than triple double.

+1

There is certainly a precedent for naming co-MVPs. This is definitely a night where that would be appropriate. When Josh plays efficiently and fills up the stat sheet while JJ makes the stops and hits the shots necessary to keep the Bucks from getting too close....well, I don't see why we can't do for Josh/JJ what the All-Star MVP voters did for Shaq/Kobe last year.

Yes. Smith is 6'7" barefoot as measured at the combine. So is JJ. Smith and Marvin are just listed 2" taller for whatever reason.

Didn't Josh Smith and Marvin grow some after getting to the NBA? Then again I guess Joe could have grown some also since he was only 20 when he was a rookie.

Joe Johnson was fantastic tonight, but you know what? Horf and Smoove were just out this world: 41 points, 24 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals, 5 blocks, 70% shooting.

I mean, damn. That is one of the best PF + C Atlanta Hawks' stat lines I have ever seen in my life. MVP's= Josh, Horf Honorable Mention= Joe

Also talking about co-mvp type games how about the ballgame at the Ted tonight? Troy Glaus, Jason Heyward, and Nate McClouth (of all people LOL!) hitting home runs to win the game against the division rival down three runs with two outs in the ninth. One of those days when being an Atlantaholic is a good thing.

Diesel, he did try to get him #10. Marvin and Bibby just blew it.

Smoove and Horford were awesome, and JJ was good too (but I didnt see him do much in the second half--but then again, I was switching between that and the Braves game). We expect Smoove and Horford to dominate against the paint-challenged Bucks, but not so much JJ with his bad finger. Good to see all three getting it going.

Yeah, I saw that too. I'm just saying, there was like 2 minutes left and we were up by 12 or 14 when Woody pulled the whole crew. I'm looking at this from a Historical POV. Still, us going 2-0 for the first time since we were the St. Louis Hawks is just as Historical.

Now a days..........every player is listed at their height in shoes.........for whatever reason. Maybe b/c they play in shoes. Same thing in the NFL.

No they aren't. The listing seems pretty random. Childress and Iggy measured at the exact same height without shoes in the same draft year, yet Iggy is listed at 6'6" and Childress was listed at 6'8".

Redick is listed at his height without shoes. I think it is up to the team how they want to list their players.

Sometimes I can't even begin to understand you guys. Josh played 7 minutes 15 seconds less than Joe. But in his 7 less minutes he took 12 less shots to make only 6 less points. He had 10 more rebounds, 3 more assists, 1 more steal. Joe had one more turnover and got 2 of his shots blocked. Joe had a good game. 27/6/4 is a nice stat line. He shot over 50%....wtg JJ but anyone calling Joe the MVP didn't watch the same game I did. Josh was 9-11. He only missed 2 shots, had 9 assists and only 2 turnovers. That means on possessions Josh either shot the ball, lost the ball or passed for a basket he was 18 of 22. That's only 4 bad possessions when the ball ran through Josh. Joe was 12 of 23, 6 assists with 3 turnovers. That's 18 of 32...14 bad possessions. Kudos to Josh for doing more, screwing up less in 7 less minutes. Grats to Joe for a good game offensively and 2 blocked shots and a steal But Josh is the MVP of game 2...period.

Honorable mention to Al for a previously unmentioned stat.....Kurt Thomas...0 points. Josh and Marvins guys had 16 points total between them. The stat lines between marv, josh, al and their counterparts on Milwaukee was ridiculous.

Look at the way the points were scored.

Josh - a couple of dunks, alley-oop lay ups, a couple of post ups against smaller and weaker Delfino, some putbacks, one open jumpshot. I don't say this is bad, quite the opposite - Josh was doing what's his best at.

Joe - a couple of open threes - the rest were hard earned points were he either made a shot with a hand in his face or beat his defender (usually the only Bucks defensive specialists) to the rim and dealt with help defense (not the best one though TBH). Scored 9 straight early in 4th quarter and killed Bucks momentum.

Defensively they're both were great.

Brilliant. Why even bother to watch the game if you can just look at the box score and tell the whole story?

Josh. Dominated the glass. Set up other guys and screwed up the Bucks D. Was absolutely everywhere on D. Almost a completely perfect game. Joe hit some big shots down the stretch and played some nice D on Jennings, but seriously, Smith was as close to perfect as I've ever seen him.

Let me explain it using your logic. Josh was getting dunks, alley-oops and was able to draw defenders to himself in the post by being bigger. That set up the other players for Josh's 9 assists. Josh's ability to draw the defense to himself and require doubles in the post made life easier for the other players. 5 man game....Joe was important...no argument. BUT MVP means Most Valuable. Josh made things go defensively and offensively. All the talk pregame was "how do they stop Josh". All the talk after the game was, "they couldn't stop Josh".

That isn't what the Bucks were talking about before the game. If they were they wouldn't have put Delfino on Smith.

Exactly. What he failed to realize is that Milwaukee put their best defender on JJ which allowed Smoove to go against a much weaker defender.
