So I don't think the refs were why we lost but it was another oddly called game.  That's for sure.

Timely missed calls impact the game beyond the point of the play in question.  The foul call on Jollins, not on Giannis is a clear example of that.

It happens both ways but when it consistently impacts one team more ... that's where it gets odd.

Listen I don't like the 10 second rule thing but if it's a rule then they have to call it.  It feels gimmicky for sure but shiiiiii, we didn't write the rule book.  They did.  They should've had the guts to call it in MIL so it doesn't look so egregious if they call it now.  But that's not the Hawks' fault.

i don’t think it cost us the game, but a game where Jollins gets to play because he isn’t I. Bogus foul trouble… things like the “alley oop” goaltend that wasn’t called, among other things, make you scratch your head.

I'm not going to blame the refs since there is plenty we could've done to pull this one out but there is no way Milwaukee would've pulled away in the 4th like they did if it weren't for the calls going their way.

Hey, they might've.  But we'll never really know because the whistle got selectively swallowed.

How many times do teams' runs get stopped by a timely foul/and-1?  That wasn't available to us last night.

That ref should be done for the rest of the playoffs but then that would be the league and refs admitting a mistake. A very big mistake. Maybe I should say am hoping it was just a very big mistake because this league already has enough on its plate to clean up all the damn bias we have faced. Its amateurish.

I try to be as objective as possible, which i know is not likely, but it's hard for me to look at that game and say that the Bucks were on the wrong end of as many bad or missed calls.  

If you don't want to believe that there are ulterior motives with the refs then the only other conclusion is that they really suck at their job.   

There are 3 refs staring at this play.   There is no explanation for missing this call.

i've watched Trae's ankle injury live a few times and i definitely think it was just a fluke play and a total accident, but it is also unusual for the ref to stand directly behind a player like that.  usually when the players move to in front of the refs the refs slide to a different position if for no other reason than to see better.  This guy was just a statue there.   Again, i don't think the ref did anything deliberately but it's also another example of the ref not doing a very good job.

I am all in favor of automating refereeing / umpiring wherever you can.  The vast majority of the time there is no ill will, just human mistakes made.  Guys have bad nights and mess calls up.  Sometimes egos come into the picture and you end up with BS personal biases changing the game but whatever the reason it is cold comfort to a team when they aren't able to function on a level playing field.  It isn't an excuse to me to say "that is just part of the game, guess you need to live with Giannis tipping in 3pters or Jrue pushing the ball over the halfline for a BS TO because that is just a human part of the game."  Would love to see us get to the point where it is automated and called by machines with human review.

Also, it is super 100% BS that if a coach challenges a play that they can't challenge another play later on even if they are right.  That means that instead of worrying about whether the play is called right the coaching staff must evaluate both whether the call was right and whether this is worth giving up their ability to challenge in a case an even worse call comes later (or at least a more impactful one).  

If you are giving a coach the ability to fix an error through a challenge, they should not lose that as long as they are correct.  I am certain this is all about wanting to prevent a coach from embarrassing the officials by repeatedly challenging bad calls.  Again, the egos of the refs should be secondary to getting things right and having a level playing field.
