Griffin is coming in as an elite shooter from college. The question for him is can he stay healthy and can he avoided getting abused defensively. JJ helps us here because he can guard some wings while Griffin can hold is own agaist weaker PFs. With the moves we've made so far, Griffin's defense shouldn't be as big of an issue now that he doesn't have to primarily match up any teams #1 scoring threat whenever he's on the court.

Kev will be missed, but his offense is replaceable if other guys step up.

We had a log jam at the backup 2.... either him or Bogi had to go.

We get a couple backups that serve as 2 / 3 3rd stringers in case of injury. 

Both of these backups expire next season. As opposed to having Kevins 14 mil on the books, next summer we will be in a much better position to afford retaining Hunter, who plays a position of greater need than Kevins. 

We recouped a 1st rounder that will help us make another big move, OR continue our steady line of getting steals in the mid first round to keep that depth coming.

Just look at this comparison with this years #1 pick. Johnson obviously hasn't played as many games so I'm not saying he's the same caliber of prospect. But we should be talking about him with a lot more optimism. JJ could be a a major boon for us this season.

I don't disagree - at least in that something else could/might/is going to happen.  Though, on this he's reacting to the Huerter news.  Timing is right on the trade announcement.

the bench that is literally being put together as we speak?

Guess you don't have any hope of JJ/OO/Griffin contributing either. 

And even if Bogi is our sole/primary scorer off the bench, that's a helluva lot better than what most teams have.
