The 3-point Conundrum

I'll be keeping watch all season.

We can't be both low volume AND low percentages.

 

AJ Griffin = 67% 3P% John Collins = 38% 3P% Everyone else under 37%...including Trae at 25%.

Dre - 27%

DJ - 35%

JHol - 33%

AHol - 25%

JJ - 0% (0-3)

C'mon Kyle....help them!

Bogie = our 3 point player.  Until he returns, looks like a AJ Griffin time!  Our only question, will he be allowed in any of the games that are not a blow-out, like our last one?

If only we still had a career 38% 3 point shooting specialist on the team who was on a reasonable contract...

We do!  Problem is, he's still a rookie and only appeared briefly!  Still, I believe he has at least 38% career and he's just beginning on his rookie contract!!

Would love to see AJ get A. Holiday’s minutes for a game or two and see what he can do.

Trae is not low volume...He is averaging almost 10 per game at 25%

The rest of the team is low volume but shooting it at 33.3%

This should be the move. More size to play with Trae and Murray in the backcourt and an outlet for 3.

Hunter - 43.8% from 3 (4 attempts)

We really need Trae (31.7%) and especially JC (24%) to improve on their 3pt percentages. JC is 1-19 from three in last 6 games. That's 5.2% .

Jazz made 7 3s in the 4th quarter last night.  Hawks had 8 made 3s for the entire game.

No. Can't do that. Going to have to pay at least $500K in unlikely incentive money, and maybe as much as $2.5M. Only about $1.8M below the tax line. Would have to give him a $1.6M contract right now.

I think this all goes back to us being the team that passes the ball the least. Not gonna be a lot of catch and shoot opportunities when our main offense is one on one or PnR with Trae and Murray.
