hylndr11  A three team swap may be the key for getting what this Hawk team really needs.  Mikey says either Murray or Capela may be on the move soon.  Both are starters and we must expect another starter in return or something really, really good.

Tearing down to build up always comes with it's problems.  Looking at our current record shows that we aren't really ready to go for the championship this season.  I believe Hawks are looking for two things.  Youth and size.

DJ is our best asset to swing a trade for a star that fits better on the team. Agree we should keep DJ with most of these trash trades that have been offered, but if there's a DJ for KAT or DJ for multiple role players/starters that fit (Murphy, Herb) , I think it helps the Hawks to go for those.

Jalen is the only untouchable on the roster. Not because he's the best but because his cost to production value is off the chart. There is no way to get back Jalen level value at his salary.

Trae is untouchable 1a.  But its not because he's untouchable.  Teams would not give back enough value for Trae. They understand how he limits teams and he's techs/complaining have worn thin around the league and with officials.  Trae is untouchable because you'd never get back = value.

The team would like to get back a good PF and slide Jalen to the 3. They believe his best value is at the 3 where he can overpower 1/2 of the 3's in the league.  The team would like to get bigger (like 10lbs/2 inches per position) and that starts with Jalen over Dre. The interesting name I heard (and I heard several) was Marvin Bagley at the 4 next to Jalen. They think that's the kind of size/fit they'd like and they think Trae can bring out the best in a player like Bagley.

The team would be willing to slide BB back into the starting lineup at the 2 if the return on DJ is good.

The team would like to move on from Clint for a bigger, longer Center with potential. They would be willing to play OO at the center until the big center develops.

Short answer, if you hear a rumor about us acquiring an undersized player, its a lie.  Quin wants length/size.  He doesn't want another Philly/NY/Miami foul fest with no retribution. 

I'd be very surprised if we don't acquire an enforcer.

Lastly, there is a possibility that for the right player, we spend that John Collins TPE.  I really can't say more than that but that's on the table right now.

To echo what @thecampster said: Quin wants a different roster. There's simply no other way to say it. They want to get taller, heavier and flat out more physical as an entire team. This isn't the case of just swapping one guy for another. Quin believes Trae is such a dynamic offensive engine he can simply elevate players who are good on defense/iffy on offense to at least be good enough to win with because of the Trae effect.

The team wants real size and length back in any trade. I think they would ideally want to move Jalen to SF where he can flat out bully ball 70% of the SFs in the NBA if not more while also with his 40% or so 3pt shooting still provide spacing.

I'm hearing the 15th as well. Hawks have asked for final offers for DJM, Capela, Hunter, Bogi and AJ over the weekend. If nothing tops then a trade is expected on the 15th. I've heard Murray and possibly Capela this soon on the 15th with Dre coming later once he's healthy to resume playing.

 Yes, he gets picked on because well he's worse than Lebron obviously, but he isn't "horrible". That's some hyperbole right there. Not saying he's a defensive difference maker but we aren't trading for a lockdown defender who can give you 15-5 on 61% TS and is a lockdown guy for 12 million a year, because that doesn't exist.  You aren't getting anyone who produces what Reaves can give you at his price point it's a great value deal and if we ship DJM and Reaves is not part of the package it's a failure by our front office.

On the verge of a big deal but it can't happen until Monday.

Hawks have games to play before then.  Do we sit the players to be traded until then?

Guess we might find out something by tonight's game.  Interesting thought any way!
