True but with Trae getting a legit big time scorer it does take heat off the defense.  Right now Trae is out only legit go to guy.  I believe we would win some games.   The Lakers and Celts don't chase young players they get more vets.  Portzingas being an example.  Hawks should have got him.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why Minny would trade KAT, outside of a 1st round meltdown in the playoffs.

 

The second tax apron on the LT is terrifying. Minnesota, let alone any other NBA team, is not going to hit that if they can avoid it.

They didn't give up 5 first round picks to trade Gobert two seasons later. I know you are in your feels right now but KAT is the only logical person to get moved out of Minnesota.

A-Rod is not going to sell off KAT, if they make the NBA Finals.  They'll find a way to deal someone else ( namely Gobert ), and stay out of that 2nd apron.

I would like for the Hawks to take a shot at Naz Reid this summer . . or maybe before the deadline.

People have asked me multiple times about this. All I know is last season after Quin took over something happened in private between Quin and AJ and it put AJ in Quin's doghouse. He hasn't even come close to getting out of it since then. I have asked multiple times to my sources for more details but it is a stonewall situation other than what I wrote above. Something happened last season, AJ is in his doghouse and it is up to AJ to get out of it. Make of that what  you will.

Personally, I don't see how the hell AJ could be worse than the Matthews or Bey out there.

They are not trading Gobert. I have a Twolf source. KAT is the one that will be moved. If we can wait to the offseason to make big trades I'd send Murray plus whatever to get him.

This doesn't sit well with me.  There are no adults in the room to figure this out and rectify the situation instead of letting it fester? And devaluing a valuable asset!

Trae Young remains the franchise player, but the Hawks want to build around him with younger, less expensive players such as Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu. But that's an expensive decision, as the Hawks would be responsible for paying Murray a 15 percent trade bonus for about $13 million. And, of course, since he's with Klutch Sports, the Lakers are the apparent destination with flagship client LeBron James in Los Angeles.

Beyond the agent ties, though, the Lakers are said to be very interested in Murray.

Los Angeles has a first-round pick it can send to Atlanta in 2029 or 2030, along with a potential willingness to take on one or two of Capela, Hunter or Bogdanović. Can the Lakers come up with enough to get a deal done without including Austin Reaves? That may be the fulcrum to a deal, even if L.A. tries to sweeten it with young players such as Jalen Hood-Schifino, Max Christie or Maxwell Lewis.

L.A. is also close to its first-apron spending limit (about $4.9 million under), so several others might need to be on the move (especially if L.A. is taking in additional veterans from Atlanta) like Rui Hachimura, D'Angelo Russell and Gabe Vincent (out after knee surgery). The Lakers want to keep Reaves and Hachimura, so it remains unclear whether a compromise can be met.

Other teams linked by sources to Murray include the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks and one surprise dark horse—the Spurs.
