I'm not one of the Marvin haters on this board, but I would strongly consider starting Mo over Marvin. Here me out...I'm not saying Mo is better than Marvin, but I think it works based on fit.

- Mo (with his shooting ability and solid D) might be a better fit with our other first team guys to help spread the floor.

- Then let Marvin lead your second team as your scoring threat off the bench.

I think it's worth STRONG consideration.

Marvin isn't a scoring threat. He's a catch and shoot guy who is decent at running the floor. He's not someone who is a threat to score on the floor.

StAtl, don't forget the guy apparently started ALL the playoffs games this year, so he knows how to start, plus Marvin is suspended for game 1.

I am INCREDIBLY excited we got a quality role player for so cheap!!!!

BYE BYE CHILLZ. ENJOY YOUR INFLATED CONTRACT

Yes, excellent deal and we do need to get Kwame in the fold too. Time to get the Smith deal done too.

Once that is completed I would fill out the roster with Luke Jackson (good d, good bb iq, excellent shot) and Richardson.

Unfortantely Evans makes West redundant so I have a feeling he won't be back. Also bye bye Salim which is a relief to me.

With a healthy Speedy and Evans we have some top notch perimeter defenders off the bench.

Al / Kwame

Smith / Zaza /Solo

Marvin / Richardson

JJ / Evans / Jackson

Bibby / Law / Speedy

There goes the option of us getting J.R. Smith. Oh well. To me, I don't think Maurice Evans can play the role of a sixth man as well as Childress did, but we'll have to do with what we have now. Mo Evans is a solid bench player.

Now, it's important that we sign a big (Kwame Brown?) and more importantly resign Josh Smith.

Bibby - Law - Claxton

Johnson - Evans

Marvin - Richardson/Jackson

Smith - Jones

Horford - Brown - Pachulia

We are already over the cap, even before that signing but because we saved so much without signing Childress we are well under the luxury tax and can use the remaining 3 millionish from the MLE, the LLE (which I think is around 1.5 but I'm not sure). We can also sign those summer league guys too I believe without using the MLE as long as they get minimum contracts, although I could be wrong on that.

The bottom line is that no matter what we will be over the cap but also no matter what we will be under the luxury tax.

I was a big fan of Childress but we just got a guy who, although a somewhat of a different skill set, is about as productive as Childress while playing less minutes. A very important point I've read from fans of other teams re: Evans is that, like Childress, he can play off the ball. If we could somehow find a way to split the 3+M left of the MLE on Brown and Morris that would be awesome. Use the LLE (if our owners choose) on another wing so we don't have to play guys like Richardson much.

That sounds like a great lineup to me, although that's only 13 players so I'd probably try and keep West considering that we can't count on Speedy and that West has seemingly gotten a lot more reliable on his jumper. I don't think you can ever have too many high energy defensive specialists.

Now it's time for Sund to get Kwame and Smith back and then the rest will be gravy.

Yeah, I agree. A stronger shooter, defender playing with Joe and Bibbs will make our team a strong threat.

WRONG!

Catch and shoot guys don't get the FT line an average of 5 times a game. Take a look at the people who get to the FT line more than Marvin, and you'll see (for the most part) the NBA's top players.
