MaceCase
i really hope we dont go into extreme tank mode. We could lose 80 games and get the 10th pickMathematically impossible unless 6-7 other teams lose 80 or more games as well (another unlikelihood) and the Hawks lose 7 consecutive coin flips (again, how unlucky do you think the Hawks are?). MaceCase
QOs can be rescinded. He is not bound by the QO.Seriously, it's all a matter of good business sense. Why give up an asset before exploring all avenues first? Hell, we extended Chill's QO for a dozen years even though we knew that he was unlikely to ever be a Hawk again.

Ruckus
QOs can be rescinded. He is not bound by the QO.So what's the point of a QO? Can Teague accept it on July 1?
TheFuzz
Mathematically impossible unless 6-7 other teams lose 80 or more games as well (another unlikelihood) and the Hawks lose 7 consecutive coin flips (again, how unlucky do you think the Hawks are?). You tell him Mace. If Teague doesn't get a bananas offer there is no reason to not bring him back. Collect as many assets as you can! We'll have two very talented point guards in a league that covets them. Teague could be used to bring in a wing in a trade. Premium Member Scott Posted June 30, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 30, 2013 This is a a good move by Ferry. Teague is a asset and thats somthing we need to build this team. We can match any offer he receives on the open market. or let him walk and resign Devin Harris to a cheap two year contract and develop the rookie. AHawks89
Leadership is going to be having nightmares tonight. With that said, I'm happy that we're bringing Teague back. He's been improving every season, and like others said, his best basketball is right around the corner.
ATLscrubLove
Hawks offered Teague 4.5 Million LOLOLOLOL low ball. Brian Windhorst: Though Hawks didn't announce it, they issued a $4.5 million qualifying offer to PG Jeff Teague to make him a restricted free agent. DJlaysitup
$4.5m....sounds reasonable. Not a total lowball offer that would insult him.
frosgrim
The QO is to make sure we can get something for him. I don't think Teague fits what the offense will be. Plus, his defense is suspect. My guess is Teague is traded. Devin will probably be back as the starter until Schröder is ready. DrReality
Tanking never entered DF's mind! And I think Budz can/will make Teague better cuz we need a vet or two while the young kid matures This leaves all our options open depending upon how the other FA s work out. Moderators PSSSHHHRRR87 Posted June 30, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted June 30, 2013 And anyone that thinks that Teague deserves Holiday money is crazy. Teague will lucky if he sees $6 mil/yr without vast improvement on his PG skills.
Sarcatic1
I will never understand why Hawk fans love Devin Harris more than Jeff Teague. Yea I dont undestand that either. Harris is older and cant stay healthy. I would rather bring Teague back on a reasonable contract and develop Schröder.
ATLscrubLove
Not a lowball. The qualifying offer is a preset number based off of the rookie scale. The Hawks do not get to decide the amount.Right, forgot.
mattlanta
I don't understand why people don't believe Teague will be our starting PG next season. Barring something like a CP3 signing or a Rondo trade, Teague is our next best option. And who's to say that he won't be a valuable guard off the bench once Schröder is ready to take over the starting role 2-3 years down the line? Premium Member Sothron Posted June 30, 2013 Premium Member Report Share Posted June 30, 2013 I hope this is just a precursor to trading Jeff in a S&T. I don't want him back here. I'd much rather see what we got in FA/trade or the rookie.
Dragitoff
I, for one wouldn't mind taking a bad contract off of Boston's hands f we get rondo for virtually nothing of value, especially if we are trying to build a team and can't attract top tier free agents. He's a hot head and can't shoot but he's one of the top PG in the league and a lock down defender at the one.
Sarcatic1
The way some of you talk one would think Jeff Teague was on Royal Ivey or Acie Law status smh
