The Wizards' season already is in a tailspin before it begins. The team learned Saturday that Bradley Beal's left wrist is indeed fractured and likely out as many as two months, though that won't be confirmed until after the procedure, two people with knowledge of the situation confirmed to CSNwashington.com.

 

An official statement released by the Wizards later Saturday said that Beal had "a non-displaced fracture of the scaphoid bone in his left (non-shooting) wrist that will require surgery."...

 

The injury occurred during a collision in the Wizards' third preseason game vs. the Charlotte Hornets in Greenville, S.C. Beal actually shot free throws after incurring the injury and then left the game and didn't return. 

 

 

At a much lesser scale of alarm, in the aftermath of the Grumpy Old Men fight earlier this week, the Wizards will likely lose Paul Pierce, and at least two other players (Nene and DeJuan Blair) who left the sideline, for the season opener.
