Losing is not how you build a championship team.

Except it is.

Are you kidding me Irving Love > Korver DMC that team stood 0 chance of winning a single game against the Cavs even at full health! Al horford had a 1 rebound game and made Tristan Thompson look like freaking Dennis Rodman. I've told you the hawks have had plenty of chances they blew it thats what has put us here not Schlenk.

That season, we beat the Cavs 3 out of the 4 times we played them.

We average 109.8 ppg against them in the reg season.

See the problem is that you want to compare individual output with team output.   Korver was a very important part of our team output.  When Cleveland went in and took out his knee, it was a plan.

Says the guy that forgets it's foolishly dumb to really factor regular season wins vs Lebron. When it's the playoffs, that goes out the window entirely.

Yeah, Lebron sends his hinchmen in to finish off the already injured team.

We did the same thing last year and scored 116.5. Doesn't mean much. That team wasn't beating a healthy Cleveland.

Maybe the next year when they swept us again didn't help ring the bell for you. The hawks lost by double digits every single game except game 3 including losing by 30 in an elimination game. Their team they rolled out besides Lebron was Thompson, Mozgov, Delly, Smith with Marion, James Jones, Shump off the bench. It was Lebron and a bunch of low end roll players and they still swept us. We should have realized there that core is never going to win a title so flip them for assets potentially a star, but obviously a head coach won't make that move which is why giving Bud the president title was a terrible idea. Al Horford and Paul Milsap are assets gone without compensation because of Bud trying to ink every win out of every season and not planning for the future.

We wasn't the same team without DMC.  Or maybe you missed that.   Did you think that Baze was a good replacement?

The same DMC that averaged 13ppg 5 rpg 1 stl. That is a solid NBA role player. Baze as the replacement is also on Bud the president. I think it was more Lebron was that much more dominant against a team like the hawks because we didn't have a star that could counter Lebron's moments when he can't be stopped. Even the 04 Pistons had Chauncey and Rip hitting those shots the hawks had no crowd silencers besides Korver who was still only making about 4-5 shots a game that season and still couldn't create his own offense.

He was an important cog in the process.   See. that's the problem.  Most of you all don't get that Bud Ball wasn't about individual play.  The beauty of Budball was a team that executed together.   That's why we have 4 allstar and why the whole team was the player of the month...  We were a team and it's something that Basketball has been missing.   But now we're back to thinking that one man can make such a difference that it would raise us to the level of NBA championship.   Has it really worked for Lebron?  He's undoubtedly the best player in the game.   However, he needed an injury and help from the league to beat GS and that was with Kyrie playing out of his mind and with Love.   GS has superstars but don't miss the quality of being a team that they have.   Other teams have superstars but they are not as good a team as GS.  We can spend all of our money right now and bring in Lebron and we still wouldn't win a championship.

What we had was a team and we were the first to show that Team ball can win.  It's no doubt that the Dellabadova play was a dirty play.   He was a dirty player and he saw the opportunity to get our biggest threat out.  Not to mention that we already had a hobbled DMC.   Two very important pieces to the team.     You can keep quoting ppgs and such but it tells me that you never understood what made us so good that year in the first place.

It’s a much more difficult task requiring 8-10 players to play at 100% efficiency over the course of 100 games than it is asking 2-3 players to do the same.  It’s a reason why with the exclusion of the 19 game win streak the Hawks were closer to a .500 win percentage during the span of that core.  By merit of securing the #1 seed during the 60 win season the Hawks received the most favorable matchups in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs yet still struggled to advance despite being near full health.

And the other thing Diesel and others refuse to acknowledge is that those guys had reached their peak during the month of January 2015 and were on the the decline since the peak in Feb. whether it was because of injury or age.  They were never going to recreate that magical month again.  That's team's win total projection was probably some where around 50 games the following season and 47 win for the season after that if nothing changed.  And once the Hawks lost Horford to free agency, the gig was up.

I will never forget that POS for the way he threw/throws himself around hurting people.  I will note that we were already down by 17 when that clip started.  Best case for us if we don't get Korver injured is we win our first ever game outside of the first and second round of the playoffs.  No way we beat LeBron that season in the playoffs unless he goes down along with Love and Irving.

For kicks and giggles, The Four-Letter Network now has a Tank Race link on their NBA standings page. It's no better than the straight-forward Tankathon, though.

The Hawks need to tank harder. Might as well 'win' something this season. These other teams have absolutely no shame.

Every game makes a huge difference in odds and worst case scenarios.  No matter where we land we'll all be hoping we get lucky but the only thing we can control now are our odds and our floor.

I thought this would be entertaining.  Considering top 14 as Lottery picks... Thought it would be interesting to look at our draft History with lottery picks.  No...yay or nay from me... Just want to hear your opinion of the talent that we gleaned from the lottery.

We have the worst overall drafting record in NBA history.  So it is no surprise that getting one All-Star/All-NBA player from those picks is brutally bad.  Credit to Babcock who could not draft to save his life for at least for flipping the Rumeal Robinson pick for Mookie Blalock.

Al Horford is the best return.

Then comes flipping Rumeal for Mookie.

Then comes Mookie inspiring the name of Pearl Jam's Ten album.

Then comes Plastic Man & JT.

After that you are firmly in bust-ville population BK/PB/SK.
