Hacked?  I have no idea what you are talking about.  You know who has really gotten fit lately though?  Spud.  Been working out and just killing it.  Totally not riding around Walmart on his scooter.  More like kicking names and taking a--.  Am I right?

Welp, I'm off to ban bleachkit.  Will be back later.

Funny you mention working out 🏋🏿‍♀️ I’ve been going like a madman but got tired recently so now I’m taking random yoga 🧘‍♀️ classes and letting out my emotions to the 27 women and that other dude in the class. Every yoga 🧘🏽‍♂️ class gets me that much closer to ultimate tranquility (lw3 state of being).

Dedmon also played 25 minutes per game vs 33 for Capela

I think Dedmon is an overall better player than Capela. Capela is younger and boards a bit better but  I take Dedmon in the overall game. He was hitting some nice 3’s this year. 🤙 📱

I don't doubt it totally different poster, Spud2Nique.  You always kill it whether in the gym or in a room full of stretching women or here on the Squawk.  Go kill some firefly poses now!

Agreed. Dedmon has a more well rounded, vesatile game.

Quote

He brings just about everything a contending team should want from their center position – he can step outside and knock down a three-pointer, rolls to the rim for lobs and offensive rebounds, and can defend at all three levels in pick-and-roll. This level of versatility on both ends of the floor makes him one of the better free agent centers available this summer,

Capela Shoots better, rebounds better, BLKs better.   Well rounded??

Capela takes 75% of his FGA at the rim and 99% within 10 feet of the basket.

Dedmon took 41% of his shots from 3 last season and only 35% at the rim.

So Dedmon represents a very different profile for floor spacing and that has a lot of value in this era particularly as it leaves the lane open for drives by Trae and interior plays by Collins.

Defensively, he has been ineffective against small lineups which has led to him getting benched in lineups emphasizing those.  Dedmon has had better success staying on the floor in those situations.  That doesn't make Capela useless by any means and he is the better player overall, IMO, but it makes him more limited and less well rounded.  His role is pretty rigid and if that role doesn't fit the scheme we need then he sits.  It gets a little tough to spend that much money on a guy whose lane is that narrow even if he does an excellent job in his lane.

(Just adding as an aside that Capela is in no way to blame for Houston being a subpar rebounding team.  Capela is a good rebounder and does his job in that department.)

I was just typing this up! Beat me to it. To suggest that Capela is a better shooter simply because he dunks the ball more frequently and hits more layups is disingenuous. Also they each had 1.6 blocks per 36 last year. Capela is a valuable player but Dedmon's game is certainly more well-rounded.

Wall of Text?

Could be a mobile issue. That or Diesel's sabbatical was spent learning how to code in HTML so he could take the Squawk by storm.

This.  He is young and  highly efficient but limited in what he does and that is on a team that is built to accommodate that more than we are (given that they run so much more iso than what we want to do).  I think he could be a useful role player with what he does but big men who can only rebound, dunk and defend come pretty cheap these days which is why Houston is ready to unload him, imo.

He gets his points from pick and rolls not isos. Trae is excellent at pick and rolls... the fact we run less iso than Houston probably will give him more scoring opportunities not less.

I'm not saying he is the absolute best fit but he is a very, very good player, and the reason Houston is trying to unload him is that they can't unload Paul and are desperately trying to clear a max slot on their team so they can sign Kawhi. They are looking to win a championship NOW.

I see everyone saying that his 66%(!) TS%, 14rp36m(!), 24 PER and .24 WS/48 minutes are purely a result of playing with Harden seem to ignore the obvious possibility that Trae could be just as good for Capella as Harden is. Everyone says his contract is toxic when players like Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin are going to be making more than twice as much. We could trade for Capela and still sign a max fee agent in 2020 or 2021 no problem.

Not sure where you think I said he is all about iso's or where I attributed his success to "purely Harden."  I think he will be a very similar player where he plays.  Since all he does is score at the rim his TS% is always going to be fantastic which should lead to nice PER and WS/48 numbers.  Look at the number DeAndre Jordan.

I don't think he has the versatility to scale up his attempts a whole lot with his current efficiency.
