I've said a lot of things on this board....but nothing I am more proud of than this post and the ones that followed.

Had to revisit the Draft night meltdown starting on page 221 of that thread. It was epic! Let's just say I figured it wasn't in my best interest to post how excited I was to get "my guy" at that moment.

I thought Luka was the better option at the time.  Couldn’t be happier now, the Cam pick is what put it over the top for me too. I’m slightly obsessed with his potential and what I think he can be.

All I had to see was that winning 3 against SA in the preseason with Trae. Even though it was preseason it was a big shot in front of a big crowd and he was a rookie. That takes guts and only the top dawgs have it. That’s what separates them. That’s when I knew he was something special and he continues to make momentum changing plays.

Still have to wait and see if quantity will best quality. Luka already top 2 MVP candidate. While Trae and Cam is good, one will have to be top MVP candidate for me.

I don't know if Luka can hold up longterm. Trae's always working on his body and Luka routinely gets criticized for coming in overweight and sluggish. He can turn it around so we'll have to wait and see. He's also more injury prone than Trae who (knock on wood) has been pretty healthy so far in his career.

Oh man, I was boiling mad over them trading Luka for Trae, as I thought that he would only translate into a 'gotta get mine' chucker (see Davis, Ricky) at best. I didn't start to come around until after the All-Star break of his rookie year when he just did the impossible almost every night.

Dallas has their man but losing out on Trae and Reddish is going to prove over time to be an extremely high price tag. Like buying a luxury vehicle that everyone is impressed with but paying the note at payday loan interest rates...

Interesting....so I wanted luka or Trae or Ayton....my whole thing that draft was getting a potential franchise scorer to kick off the rebuild but as the draft got closer I was ALL Trae!

unlike many of you I was jumping for joy when we traded luka for Trae! I thought from the get go Trae was going to be the real deal and I can admit that I was wrong about luka...very wrong!

After watching Lukas full euro games leading up to that draft I thought yeah he will be a good player but he won’t be able to score at will because I couldn’t see him beating players off the dribble. Luka looked to slow to me! Again I was dead wrong but I thought luka would struggle scoring at a high level in the nba and in that draft as I stated earlier I was looking for a franchise scorer more so than a all around talent.

in my opinion when you’re rebuilding .....while defense is certainly a important factor top priority, having a special scorer is just as important and needed. Every championship contender need atleast one extremely gifted scorer and in that draft I thought there were two Ayton who we had no shot at (thank goodness lol)...and Trae was the second best scorer of that draft to me at the time not to mention his great playmaking skills as well.

Trae was the easy pick for me.

I've never wanted Luka. I was still on the Trae Young hype train during his  beginning of his college season. Plus, the ownership needed to draft someone that could embody the culture of Atlanta.
