Also keep in mind most of the time the immediate season cap isn’t as relevant as 2-3 years down the road when all the higher salaries kick in vs expect cap.

That would’ve prevented Knicks from seriously pursuing Murray anyway.

Where’s your table with Murray less Gallo. So Atlanta didn’t have to do anything with Gallos salary so they just took in a less expensive contract than his full guarantee

His last two posts include Murray and have Gallo removed.

What is the date that everything has to be under the LT line or pay the tax?  Is it the start of the season?  End of season?  Obviously today is the start of the new NBA Year, but I'm guessing they aren't paying the tax based on today's salaries since we don't know who will sign or be traded away.

See...that's a great question.  Last day of the season for "paying the tax".  Current state for signings/trade rules.

So theoretically we could play over the LT line right up to the trade deadline and then dump enough salary to get under and not actually pay the tax?

yes but just so you don't go getting all excited.  15 players we're going to be at About $158-160 million minimum. We'd have to drop 7.5-$10 million in salary at that time.

Assuming Aaron Holiday's deal is for the 4 year vet minimum of $1,968,175,

Total - $154,846,000 for 12 players

LT Line - $150,267,000

LT room -  -$4,579,000

Apron room - $2,137,000

Just to clarify, the apron only matters if we do a sign and trade right?

Part 2 - the last 3 slots.  With the trade of Landale and subbing out Clint's bonuses,

we are now at 12 salaries,

$148,627,855

LT Line - $150,267,000

LT room -  $1,639,123

Apron room - $8,355,145

Why do you have Capela max salary when his cap hold is 18.2 million. If he hits his max, that means the Hawks made the conference finals which mean they don't care about the tax as they will make a lot of playoff money.

I removed them...that is what subbing out Clint's bonuses mean.

Someone has probably already listed them somewhere else but what are Capela's incentives

  • 2022-23: $1,000,000 (Conference Finals + 2k min) + $500,000 (30% defensive rebound rate + 2k min) + $500,000 (65% FT%)

Probably don't have to worry about the last one!  LOL!
