Honestly, I don't expect Boston and Toronto to stay that hot, but it would almost take an injury to a major piece of their team, in order for them to play less than .500 ball.

Short bench will catch up to them, imo.

We are destined for the play in.

Unless we get scorching hot and some help, we are not going to catch any of the top 6.

The conversation at this point is where in the play in do we finish?

We have to climb into the top 8. Thats the target if you ask me.

some help

Right. No question. But what I sense might be getting overlooked is that there's a lot of inter-conference games left to be played among the top 10, and how many of those can actually climb to 47+ wins is very much debatable... even the most optimistic would have difficulty justifying a vision of us finishing with that number (47).

So... but... in theory, 3 teams above us could get cold, and in that same theory, we could launch into a .600+ assault... that's sufficient.

I don't think that's actually too much to expect.

Of course, it helps a lot for those "3 teams above us" to be the teams immediately above us.

Grab your popcorn.

Target? My target is more about wins, less about where we finish actually... if we go into a play-in (or otherwise) having won 16+, given my relative disrespect for the top teams of the EC, I feel good.

Well, this is going to be a tough climb.

At 6 right now is Boston = Who is streaking.

At 5 right now is Milwaukee = Who is falling but they are a very good team .

At 4 right now is Cleveland = Who I would say gives us the best chance of moving up, but They are just not losing yet.

I have seen the new Philadelphia team play twice... and I don't want to see them until the finals.

I also don't want to face Brooklyn in a play in game.

So let's make this prediction:

1.  Philadelphia

2.  Miami

3.  Chicago

4.  Milwaukee

5.   Boston

6.  Cleveland...

IF We Get 7, this is what I would hope it would look like:

7.  Atlanta

8.   Brooklyn

9.  Toronto

10.  Charlotte

This would allow us to keep the 7th spot after beating Charlotte... and the set up is

Rnd 1:

 Philly vs. Brooklyn

Atlanta  vs. Miami

Chicago vs. Cleveland

Milwuakee vs. Boston

Rnd 2:

? vs. Milwaukee

Atlanta vs. Chicago

Rnd 3

??  vs.  Atlanta

This would be the best case scenario for us (IMO).  That being the case, we got to climb!

if we can't get a top 8 spot we probably won't be able to win the back to back games it will take to get into the playoffs.

If you are saying that we can't win a series... I disagree.  I think we're built for series play.

If you're talking about the playin game, it depends on who we get.

I don't want to see Brooklyn.   They will be Loaded..   Without Simmons...

KD, Kyrie, Seth, Drummond, Dragic...   That's a loaded team.

I'd rather see Toronto or Charlotte.

8/9 games today, the road team won. That could be a record. :indifferent:

We have to go 17-5 to have a shot at the 6th seed. Boston has a tough schedule, I’m counting them around 46 wins to end it.

Should come down to the last few games.

Well the good news is that when we are healthy.. and when we move the ball on offense and not get caught up playing isoball, we can do it.   I don't know if there are many teams that can beat us under those conditions.

We are the 9th seed now

If not for that Bulls loss, we'd be a game out of 8th.. Im still pissed at that loss...............Think about all of the games we blew in the 4th earlier in the season.. Ugh..................................

We need at least the 7th or 8th spot.

I want no part of 9 or 10 lose and go home scenario..

We get a home game at 9th spot, but you still have to go on the road and win a game, just to get in..

That's tough.....

Anybody else notice ESPN still has us in the 10th spot?

Did they miss the Hornets getting blown out last night? smh

It's correct. The HorCats are 10th of percentage point better by W/L

HorCats 48.38% 30/32

Hawks - 48.33% 29/31
