I'm in agreement with Supes.   The 1-5 & 2-5 PNR with Clint is a powerful weapon.   We still need more wrinkles in our offense off of it.  Again, I liked what Hunt was doing with the Backdoor cuts for JC and the double screens where CC or JC could be the roll man.   I think Trae like it too.

@Sothron you are that guy. Hearing that Atlanta and Ayton talks are back again. PHX has engaged Atlanta. The issue is Trae wants Capela but we will see. But Phoenix has engaged in talks with Atlanta. Right now, the market for Ayton is described as tepid. PHX doesn't really want him back and other teams aren't willing to give their best offers. Toronto isn't interested in moving OG at all but GTJ is available for Gobert or Ayton. PHX made it clear to Atlanta, they want Capela but like I said, Trae is fighting to keep Clint.

I don't know why you got Brogdon as the worse.   A healthy Brogdon actually becomes the best of all of them.  6'5" 225 is just what we need and a guy who has done 19/9 with very few turnovers...

This board has somehow vilified Brogdon who is definitely the best match for Trae because of his injuries?

OK.. they are bad.. but not as Bad as Oladipo's...  Oladipo has had 2 quad tears...

I'm thinking we address defense elsewhere.  Take care of the playmaking with a Sexton addition.

I got more, Atlanta likes him at 4/100 which is the same as JCs. This is higher than his real market value but not a massive overpay like JC. 

New York and Murray. 

I was told NY made a significant offer including Cam Reddish and Randle in a package deal with SA. SA is not interested in Randle at all and Randle market is give us two 1sts for him status around the league. 

That said, that's the only bit of detail I got outside of this. They even offered Evan and Cam and some picks. 

The Spurs seem like they are playing themselves if you ask me but I don't have the full picture as SA has closed ranks. Everything he got is from NY side and you know, it can be a tad bias to the boys in Manhattan.

Thank y’all for the welcome. I ain’t even gonna lie I’ve been lurking these chats for the past month or so. I’m just a huge hawks fan who found the right page. That being said I like capela but would easily rather have ayton. But I’ve been having to ask myself a tough question and maybe you guys can chime in and help. But how much of an upgrade is ayton really? And what all besides CC would you be willing to give up for him?

He's been young and developing for 3 years and has nothing to show for it.  IMO his on-court impact towards winning truly is pretty garbage even though he's one of the most gifted guys on the court.  It's a really weird combo but we saw it for a couple years.  He does some things that are visibly good but he does about everything that's not as noticeable at a WOAT level (team defense, boxing out, rebounding, off-ball movement, screening, etc.)  He's like a street ball player that made it to the NBA based on talent alone and never made an effort to develop into a refined player.

Sounds like Ayton is an option no matter what, so I could see us trading Capela for him so that we can achieve Resslers getting better mandate, but damn I'd be sad to see Clint go to get a max center.

Trade the 3 trash picks and 2 pick swaps and get Murray. We can always buy second rounders and rely on our good scouting for cheap talent if we need bodies so bad.

Murray IS a game changer, and worries about his regression don't make sense. He won't be the first option this time, and he can just focus on spot up shooting, driving, playmaking, rebounding, and defense instead of trying to take his awful jumpers.

Also, idk who said cam could be a starter on an nba team, but that's just pure fantasy land. Man couldn't even find minutes on the Knicks lol. Cam has the potential to be a starter, but saying he's there right now, no.

I wish we could get Gallo back after cutting him, mans can barely move, but he can shoot the hell out of the ball and help settle the game when momentum is getting out of control.

We don't really have another guy that'll just slow the game down to their pace and make a move, but perhaps Ayton can do that?

Ayton is a huge upgrade offensively, downgrade defensively, upgrade availability.

Overall though, our offense is really good already outside of secondary shot creation, Ayton isn't worth the farm or the max he wants. At least not for our team, we need some hard nosed defense, and Clint can provide.

It's a hard choice, but I think I'd perhaps to JC for Ayton in a swap if contracts were the same, but Clint for near max Ayton? Nah
