2023-24 Hawks Roster and Season Previews

I think we have a strong core of 11 players, our guard rotation is strong, we lack defense on the front court, rebounding, size and overall team strength. We are deep.

We can compete with this team and get 5-8th seed on the East, probably an exit on 1st round.

Improvement should be made on the front court to go further. Our best trading pieces are Collins, Capela and Bogi and we should look for players with more defense and size on the frontcourt. We could sacrifice depth on the backcourt for a star player on the frontcourt, that is clear. Or we could try to go to FA to add a PF/C with defense and size. To be able to do that we need to dump salary.
Improving this team is not going to be easy.

SG: Tyrese Martin, Garrison Mathews, Seth Lundy
SF:
PF:
C - Bruno Fernando, Mohammed Gueye

Two-Way Contracts:
PG: Trent Forrest
SG: Donovan Williams
SF:
PF:  Miles Norris

Hypothetical...

IF we make no changes to the guaranteed players, who would you like to see get the remaining 4 spots on the NBA team and who gets the three 2W from this group?

PG: Vit Krejci ($1.8)
SG: Tyrese Martin ($1.7), Garrison Mathews ($2.0), Seth Lundy
SF:
PF:
C - Bruno Fernando ($2.5) , Mohammed Gueye

*Bruno has a guarantee date 06/29

*Mathews has a guarantee date 06/29

*Martin has a guarantee date 07/21

Two-Way:

PG: Trent Forrest,  SG: Donovan Williams,  PF:  Miles Norris

Kreji/Martin/Bruno guaranteed and leave one slot open is my preference.  Vit brings good vibes, Martin has potential and seems to gel with the guys, and Bruno is Bruno, we love him.  I look for cultural / off-court fit more than on-court need for 11-15 slots, but I think those three are good for both.

I prefer Matthews to Martin, I think he is a good rotation wing.

Vasilije Micic to Thunder next season?

Christos Tsaltas: Vasilije Micic has decided to play in the NBA next season. He’s in talks with the OKC Thunder and a potential trade is on the table for him. He’s more than ready for his next step in the biggest stage. Story on @SportalgrG. #ThunderUp sportal.gr/basket/nba/202

Yeah before the Murray trade iirc.  But I'm cool on these 'great' euro players that thumb their noses at the league as if they're 'above' it due to their great(sic) euro careers.

As it stands, our 9 man rotation is unchanged besides the removal of JC.

Trae, DJ, Dre, JJ, CC

Bogi, AJ, Bey, OO.

After that it gets interesting, because you have slew of young talent chomping at the bit to crack the 10-12 spots.

Garuba makes sense as a stretch big. Then you have the rook, Bufkin, along with your  DNP reserves from last season looking to progress: Martin, Krejci, Matthews, Bruno, etc…

Lots of familiar faces still around the building until we make another move.

The top 11 seems easy. The rest seems like AAA.

TyTy, Gueye, Garuba, and between Martin and Vit.

What's going to be real interesting is if the Hawks decide to give Lundy a 4 year deal. If they do that, what does that mean for two of Bruno, Vit, and Martin. Only one can stay if we give both Gueye and Lundy four year deals.
