Hawks and Raptors are my favorite teams in the East!!! I have been following this team since Coach Bud arrived in Atlanta. I knew he was going to bring the Spurs culture in this organization even though it took some time for the players to understand the system. Coach bud is one of the reasons why Spurs have been successful in recent past years. Also, He was the only one in the Spurs organization who really knew the Spurs system. But it's not just coach Bud that making the Hawks better. Hawks have a lot of good players, Jeff Teague (Very talented and underrated pg, one of top points guards in the league, In my opinion). Paul millsap (Great defender, versatile can score in the post and shoots in behind three point line , Kyle Korver (one of the best shooters in NBA), Al horford ( Talented Big, really effective in post and mid range, Great defender), Demarre Caroll (Great shooter, and tough player), Thabo sefolosha (Great defender, a Stopper, Versatile player, really important piece for hawks, Mike Bud usually relies on him to defend the best players in the other team), Denis Schröder (Improving young player, can attack paint, solid shooter, and high IQ player), Mike Scott (Great solid shooter, can score in post and floor spacer) Elton Brand ( Another great defender for Hawks, tought in post and rebound helper), Kent Bazemore (Great defender, Active Hands, and really energetic), Shelvin Mack, (great shooter, another great backup pg). Danny Ferry did a great job getting the right players that can fit in Coach Bud system.Hawks doesn't rely on superstar, they rely on each other, everyone buys in the system and to their coaches. That's what i love about the hawks right now, that's why they are fun to watch. They move the ball really well, execute almost every possesion, taking care of the ball, not turning it over too many times, and they trust each other. It's sad that people think Danny Ferry is racist, but i believe he's not.. im sure if you ask anyone in the Spurs organization, including coach Greg Popovich, they all will say the same thing, Danny Ferry is not racist. And I can't believe Hawks is being put on the market next week. Hawks are just rising right now and flying under the radar. I will feel sorry for Atlanta fans if a new owner bought the Hawks and has been moved to another city. Whatever happens, as long Coach Bud is still the head coach of the Hawks, and they still have the same core players, Atlanta Hawks will have a very bright future. Go hawks go!!!!!! Caawwwwwwwww!!! buckeye242424 Posted January 3, 2015 Report Share Posted January 3, 2015 Well I agree to a point - but really - a marathon IS a race. And the better you do early the better position you are in later. Take last night as a fer-instance...we lose that game and nobody really cares as far as our position. We win that game and it doesn't make us favourites for the NBA finals. But that one win at Utah will show up on the stat sheet as a win - doesn't matter how pretty it was (or wasn't) - road win in the NBA...they aren't cheap. GO HAWKS !! I hear ya,... But to me, a 7 game series is a race, 82 games is a marathon. Personally, there's a long way to go, first ine East means nothing. By the end of January we could be fourth. Hope that this holds true tonight, blazers have been stingy on perimeter defense at home during this streak they have going - we have a 6 game road winning streak while they have like a 7 game home winning streak. And neither the Bulls, Whiz, or Cavs want any part of them in the playoffs... What would TNT/ESPN/ABC do with the Hawks making the ECFs or, gasp, the Finals? ESPN has basically said Lebron and the Cavs are the top story when they play good or bad. If we get top seed in the East, I can picture "the experts" picking Miami to beat us in the first round because you need stars to win in the post season. We are the only people who get to watch and enjoy this team. I am loving it, and seeing them top their accomplishments every week is incredible. If this team does not win in the playoffs they will still be regarded as a treadmill team. I hope they don't get the Bucks in the first round.
