Popular Post TheFuzz
That Josh Smith thread reminded me of the dark days. Holy hell are we in a much better place; new ownership, GREAT coach, a willingness to shuffle the deck, the best season in our history a couple of years ago and I think we might be even better this year (probably not record wise). Every bit of the old Hawks is gone, no more bricking jumpers, no more Marvin falling all over the place, no more iso joe... what am I missing? Dwight, you the man for coming home. Go Hawks!
Resslemania
We're off to a great start. I still kinda miss J-Smoove/Smash though.

Popular Post pimp
i like how Marvin Williams had his own comedy routine that he would perform each game. He would get the ball on the wing and try to go one on one. Jab step, jab step , jab step , then drives toward the middle of the lane and just crash into everyone like the Kool-aid man busting through a brick wall. This is the closest thing i could find , that is similar to what a Marvin drive into the lane looked like.

Premium Member Popular Post Sothron Posted November 10, 2016 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted November 10, 2016 I said more than once before the season that this was going to be the most exciting season in years. And it hasn't let me down at all. Dwight is a one man wrecking crew and you can just see in his face how happy he is to be on a team that actually values him. If we stay healthy in the playoffs we could at least make it to the conference finals.
Popular Post hazer
But, but, Moose isn't an NBA player. Coach Bud is a problem. Amnesty Bazemore. We need a real backup PG

Premium Member sturt Posted November 11, 2016 Premium Member Report Share Posted November 11, 2016 He's got a point. I hate to say it. But he does. On the one hand, I'm really not sure we're actually playing anywhere near our peak level, and yet have played well enough to be at .750. We can take better care of the ball, obviously, and we're clearly still very much tinkering with how to run the offense incorporating D8 efficiently. The counterbalance is, I'm not sure how often we're going to be prone to playing more like we did in our two losses. Those were stinkers.

I don't disagree with this, but it gets at only a portion of what I'm saying. We play an aesthetically pleasing, effective brand of basketball, we've got a lot of talent and smart people in charge. The stats will come.

Much more so than say 20 years ago IMO. It used to be any team could win on any night. Now it's any team could get blown out on any night. The Lakers loss was concerning in that it exposed that a team of really talented scorers can beat us right now if they get hot. We are still a jump shooting, system team but at least we have the potential to add other dimensions now and we know we can tighten up the defense. We have defensive talent.

Dakin
Love this thread. Every team has its ups and downs over the course of the season and this team is no exception. "The Miserables" will surely be out in full anonymous force after every loss and close win, but hopefully every long-suffering Hawks/Atlanta sports fan, including them when they log off, can appreciate what we have with this team. Also, The National rules. Edited November 12, 2016 by Dakin

bleachkit
I think we should of signed Joe this off season. Utah got him for peanuts, but he can still play.

Joe had a great season opener but he has'nt done anything since .Right now i'd rather have Tim Hardaway Jr . Speaking of THJ, think about how many of us wanted to cut/trade him during preseason. Now he's looking like 2009 Jamal Crawford

TheNorthCydeRises
The main problem with Marvin was that Josh was playing his position at PF. Marvin had a nice shot, but was really too big to play PF. He is the prototypical stretch/slash 4 that can beat PF's off the dribble, and guard them as well. The "new" Marvin
