Cam is coming along nicely. I think we all expected a rough start for Cam but were hoping for improvement and that's exactly what he has given us. The big surprise is that he would be such a good defender so soon, which is fantastic because it sets his floor at serviceable even if he doesn't develop the offense the way we hope he can.

On the other hand, Hunter continues to disappoint me. At this rate I kind of assume this is pretty much as good as we are going to get from him this year. Hopefully next year he can make the adjustments necessary to become a plus out there on the court because right now he is pretty much a negative on both ends, though he does have his moments on defense and a little less often on offense too.

Oh, and despite not being a topic of the thread I will like to mention that Heurter has also not impressed me at all this year overall. He is too streaky with his shooting and what drives me nuts is his lack of confidence after missing a couple of shots where he will start passing up completely open looks and screwing up our offense. On defense he is abysmal. He is looking like a three point specialist bench type player rather than a potential starting wing to me.

Hunter will be fine. As far as Huerter, he rubbed me the wrong way the second he showed up with the same exact body as his rookie year. Go back and look at Trae's Oklahoma highlights and compare his body to now, the boy put in work in the weight room.

And it's also pretty obvious Huerter isn't a long time starter. Hunter and Cam have just about the same amount of career FT attempts already, both are less than 15 attempts behind Kevin in only half a season. Plus Kevin is cheeks on defense. How are you out here playing 30 minutes a night and go 4 game stretches without going to the FT line once? smh soft

I like Heurter.  I'd like to disagree with some of that but can't really.   I think he has more potential to be a lights out shooter than Hunter or Cam but that's about it.

Same.  He has been limited some both summers (his rookie year he had surgery on his hand and last year had to have an MRI on his knee) but he needs to get stronger.  Getting to the line more is also essential for him along with improving his defense.  (If he ever wants to be dominant offensively he needs to start watching tape of Kevin Martin.)

But he has a great shot, is athletic enough to drive and dunk effectively, and has a very good eye for passing.  That may place him long-term as your 6th man off the bench but he still has plenty of potential to improve from where he is today which is a high floor as an important rotation player.

I'm still on board with him being a very nice piece on the roster and think we can surely use all the shooting we can get.
