Just want to say. I personally appreciate how special Trae is this season.  Some may say you are not as good as that other guy and never will be, but I personally don't care. You are a super star in your own right. 

Through 20 games. 

28.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 8.4 assists on 45.4% shooting and 38.7%  from three on 8.8 attempts per game with a usage rate of 36%. True shooting percentage is 59.8%. He is also averaging 4.9 turnovers. 

Those numbers are good for fourth in points and assists in the league as a sophmore.  I know it's a small sample size, but these are just amazing numbers.  

Let's appreciate what we have folks!  This guy is special.  Imagine him with competent shooters and defenders around him.   My goodness!

For a historic perspective, there has not been one NBA player to post 28 points and 8 assists on 37% 3-point shooting in history. Not one. Drop it down to 36% and there is just one player. James Harden's 2017-2018 season at age 28! Pretty darn impressive showing indeed!

Trae can be the superstar we’ve been wanting forever and is already looking like the best player we’ve had since prime Nique.  How can any Hawk fan not appreciate him?

 

Schlenk’s job is building the team around him.  This should be the last year in the lottery if Schlenk tackles this offseason with a goal of winning more games next year so he will need to make this last high pick really count.

I honestly believe we would be in a much different place without the Collins suspension. We relied on him for too much that’s missing as far as production. 

Ya, maybe like campster said as well, this could be our 97 Spurs tank year and land a Duncan (Wiseman) or an Ant man. 
 

Agreed, if we are in the lottery after this coming season, something went very wrong in the plan. 21 days till Collins but sadly by the we’ve dug deeper. Tough start as a team for us.

Without Collins we are sunk.  That is the bottomline.  Huert getting back to normal is also important but it is a distance behind Collins being back.  Not much Trae can do that will change the W/L result when the rest of the roster is this bad.

I don't think we will end up at the bottom.  But we'll be in the lottery with enough ping pong balls to be in the running for a high pick.

This is true, this is what I worried about if we had off to a crap start that we likely won't be able to make up enough ground but #8 seed could be Hawks/Millsap era bad. 37 wins might be enough

It's about damn time, Deke's a good guy, Smitty didn't move the meter nor Joe ( there was a core cover with Al and Josh) and  Nique was traded in the Slam infancy... been a long time coming for a marketable player.

And predictably the Lukastans are pissed and spewing their hate that Luka is epic and Trae is just great. Well that is an improvement over the past 18 months where Luka is the Love child of Zeus and Swoopes while Trae is trash
