Premium Member JayBirdHawk Posted June 5, 2020 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted June 5, 2020 Quote The National Basketball Players Association informed players today that the NBA/NBPA will conduct COVID-19 testing every night during the resumed season. The tests will likely be conducted via mouth swabs and light nasal swabs and not the full invasive nasal swab. If a player tests positive, he will be quarantined for a minimum of seven days. Premium Member JayBirdHawk Posted June 8, 2020 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted June 8, 2020 But what if we could create some magic and allow the 22 teams competing to have the opportunity to add one player from the eight teams not continuing their seasons? Here’s the premise: The Athletic’s Pistons writer, James L. Edwards III, Knicks writer, Mike Vorkunov, and Hawks writer, Chris Kirschner, will have a pool of players from the Warriors, Cavaliers, Timberwolves, Hawks, Pistons, Knicks, Bulls and Hornets to add to the rosters of the 22 teams returning. Quote 2. Phoenix Suns: Trae Young, PG, Hawks Young is probably the best player available, and while Ricky Rubio is serviceable, he’s not Young. Imagine a Young-Devin Booker backcourt! The two would give up 160 points, but they would score 161. Phoenix needs bench and point guard depth, so adding Young to the starters would provide it with an overqualified backup point guard in Rubio for the short stay in the bubble. — Edwards 10. Dallas Mavericks: John Collins, F, Hawks Collins would be a very nice addition to the Mavericks, plugging in as a very good third piece alongside Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic. Collins can stretch the floor and dive to the rim, which would make for a lethal offensive frontcourt with Porzingis. He would make the Mavericks’ league-best offense even better and make up for the midseason loss of Dwight Powell. — Vorkunov 18. Boston Celtics: Clint Capela, C, Hawks Boston was linked to Capela before the trade deadline and it’s not a secret the Celtics were trying to upgrade at center as it’s their weakest position. Capela didn’t play one game for the Hawks because of a heel injury, but he believes he should be cleared by the time the season resumes. If anything, the Celtics could bring him back slowly before the playoffs begin to work on his conditioning. A healthy Capela could be the missing piece for the Celtics to reach the NBA Finals and get past teams like Philadelphia and Milwaukee, who have size that might give Boston trouble. — Kirschner 20. Toronto Raptors: Kevin Huerter, G, Hawks It’s hard to gift someone something when they seemingly have everything, but teams can never have enough wings and 3-point shooting in today’s NBA, so I’ll slot Huerter for the Raptors. He wouldn’t start in Toronto, but could he be a nice bench addition and potentially be an X-factor in a series? Sure, why not? — Edwards 1

TRW
My idea would be to make 2 all-star teams out of the 8 remaining teams and let them compete. I know it wouldn't happen but it sure would be exciting. By records I would have Team 1: Atl., Minn., N.Y., and Det. and Team 2: G.S., Char., Chi., and Clev. Team 1 Starting 5 Trae, DLo Russell, Cam Reddish, John Collins, and KAT Bench Clint Capela, Julius Randle, DeAndre Hunter, Malik Beasley, Derrick Rose, Mitchell Robinson, R.J. Barrett, Jarrett Culver, Christian Wood, and Josh Okogie. Team 2 Starting 5 Steph Curry, Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins, Kevin Love, and Andre Drummond Bench Devonte Graham, Collin Sexton, Miles Bridges, Draymond Green, Tristan Thompson, P.J. Washington, Lauri Markkanen, Coby White, Eric Paschall, and Darius Garland. Of course, I would have added Klay Thompson and Blake Griffin but they are injured.

Dear God! Are you trying to kill us? Collins in the Mavs and Clint on our hated Celts not to mention Trae in a different uniform. Ugh . Luka to John Collins. HELL NO!!!

Moderators macdaddy Posted June 11, 2020 Moderators Report Share Posted June 11, 2020 With Aldridge sidelined I'd kind of expect Pop to let someone else coach so SA can take their early exit.
