That's asinine. 

You put Dominique Wilkins on the CURRENT Hawks roster, take Trae away and you got a NBA championship caliber team.   Trae and smaller players like him have benefitted with MASSIVE changes in the NBA in how they let offensive players roam around, especially in the paint.  Them pick and roll lobs and floaters in the 80s would've lasted two games. Heck, even Jordan had to pick his spots on getting into the lane because they would hammer you back then.

Nique more than any Hawk superstar totally did it by himself with the exception of the one year they brought in Theus and Malone.  That team had cohesive problems and off the court problems so they tore it up.  Nique played when the East was really stacked and they all had bruisers and played defense.  Last years Hawks were a blip that was one scared dunk by Simmons from not making the conference finals.
