I did think very long and hard about Payne and Olynyk with my last pick.  Based on his recent surgery and my already having 3 guys who play point guard, I decided to pass on Payne but it was a deep look.  Kelly I also looked at hard and think he will be in the NBA for a while shooting jumpers and looking tall.  I really didn't want to pick him for IRL fandom reasons and lack of big upside but considered it strongly.  He will be a solid contributor and should look pretty good for the numbers.

So what metric are we gonna use to rank the teams?

The most immediate will be whoever sims the league in NBA2k.  Cause video games.

Personally, I would use a weighted WS/48 metric based on the minutes the team owner says he or she will play their rotation.  Could do that with any per minute stat.  The reason I would do per minute is that guys may play very different minutes per game IRL than on our teams.

Some people have suggested other methods.  Probably will be driven by whoever wants to take ownership of running the numbers.

For AHF...Rodney Hood starts over Danny Green and Tony Allen? Hmmm...there might be some training camp competition for that SG spot imo.

Nice to have options.  :beach:

I'll have the nba2k sims covered by no later than September 6th.

I feel ya. I think ALL my guards could conceivably start. I can't do a combo of Dennis and Parker because they would make a tiny backcourt but I think I can mix n match Parker+Crawford...Dennis+KCP Dennis/Parker+Booker.

Im a Don Nelson clone. I like veterans until a young guy like Booker or KCP or Dennis commands the job over Parker and Crawford.

I do however anticipate the starters as lw3 projected. I think Booker>Craw and KCP and Dennis over Parker in the 2016-17 season. It's time for Dennis and Booker to shine.

I feel like the current version of 2k would be better for last seasons fantasy teams... while if we want to rank this years teams we have to wait until next years game comes out ... for instance Harrison Barnes on my team has gone from 4th option to 1st option this year so the current nba2k is not going to take things like that into account ...

You also can't measure chemistry and how players play together,  who is going to sacrifice etc. with a video game so really it is all moot ... otherwise the Howard/Kobe/Gasol super team from a few years ago would have been off the charts or even last years Houston team would have ranked much better in NBA2k while egos/chemistry/.defense ruined their season in reality.

PS Olidipo is my 6th man with Batum at SG and  Barnes starting ... l like the idea of dipo coming off the bench and taking that Manu role (and Barnes is going to really step up this year too)
