Sarah K. Spencer replaces C.Viv as the Hawks beat writer for the AJC

This is pretty awesome. I hope she can compete with Chris Krishner of the Athletic who's the best beat we have ever had. Sorry Sekou. 

Sarah went to school at Whitewater HS and graduated from UGAs school of journalism. 

She went on to write at several papers, most recently the Post Gazette. 

 

I read a number of her articles on Penn State football and I'll say she's a good and creative writer. With her and Chris, I expect quality Hawks coverage from both AJC and the Athletic. If she's able to give us excellent work, we will be one happy fanbase with two great writers covering our team. 

Hawks community, let's give a big welcome to Ms. Spencer!

Cunningham supposedly was made the beat writer a long while back, but as far as I ever noticed, it was C-Viv doing most of that work still. Didn't really understand that.

I know some didn't like him, but his confusing tweets, ability to break news stories two hours after they happened, and the knack for writing articles that nobody cares about will be missed. She has some big shoes to fill.

I love that the person most excited about C-Viv being replaced is C-Viv. His nightmare of being forced to acknowledge the existence of the Atlanta Hawks is finally over.

I can't endorse this enough! Leadbetter is horrid, so much worse than Viv, who just didn't care.  DOL, believes he's a great writer and his level of ego and hubris is astounding.

He is right inline with most of the Atlanta. With bad management and bad ownership being a thing of the past, maybe the franchise has finally moved forward completely.

Gasp!  A woman covering the Hawks???!!!  We all know from a certain enlightened segment of this Squawk community that this means she's nothing more than eye candy that got the job for physical reasons and not because there can actually be a woman with real qualifications besides her boobs, butt, and pretty face!

I think pretty much everyone is celebrating the end of Cviv and hoping for a big step up in substantive content.  Let’s not call out @JayBirdHawk for her well known love of T&A.  That hardly represents the mainstream squawk.
