one sec while I hide this button.......yes it is odd...probably a secret operative. Maybe Ukraine...yah, they're easy to blame...lets go with Ukraine.

Agreed.  Does "the Ukraine" even still exist?

On another note though, I would be remiss if I don't commend @sturt on an eggcellent lethal-inspired thread title.  Congrats, stu.  Nice to see you have a sense of humor buried 'neath that gruff exterior facade.

Adams vs Capela:

Fg% Capela

FT%  Adams

O boards Adams

D boards Capela

Assists Adams

steals Adams

blocks Capela

turnovers Capela (less)

points Capela

younger Capela

better contract equal

better screen setter Adams

more durability Adams

Wow...13 categories

6-6 and ☝🏾 tie with contracts.

@JayBirdHawk @NBASupes @thecampster

the last category that tied was whose had a better contract.

Adams makes 26mill this year and 27.5 mill next year before his contract is up.

Capela makes 17 this year and signed for 3 more years after at 18,19,20 mill respectively through 2022-2023.

So who has the better contract for us if we want to remain flexible?

That really depends on who we give up.  Currently we have lots of expirings and all of our fixed contracts are for lower amounts. Taking on Adams returns that flexibility after year 2. But Capella locks in a reasonable salary for 2 additional years. Because we are "under" the cap and way under the cap next year which is the year that matters now. You would say Adams. Now going forward, we have to resign Trae, Collins, Heurter, Reddish and Hunter in 2-4 years.  Adams salary off the books makes resigning our up and coming players easier.  Although Capella's deal is appealing....you have to look at the long term.  Adams gives you 2 years to develop your own Capella.

Does that trade even work money-wise?

Yep. And the Wizards have all their 1st round picks intact, too.

HOU guy claims, per his insider, they're gonna trade Capela to WAS for Bertans/Bryant.

Anyway, just posted that so our insiders can lock horns with this guy.  @thecampster @NBASupes your move, bros.

Actually, dang, I should've just said I had some inside dirt.  Can I get a do-over?

Money wise, 100%. It's tricky LT wise, HOU would have to trade IH

If Houston could get this deal, I would say it trumps our offer. The issue would still be, Houston has no SF but if you keep using Harden to guard fives, it would be a nightmare to guard Davis Bertrans in that lineup.

Westbrook

Harden

House Jr.

Tucker

Bertrans on offense

Bertrans

Harden on defense

Capella makes 14.9 mil per season.  Salaries need to be between 9.9 and 19.9 million going out from the Hawks.

Turner or Teague or Crabbe + picks works.

Parker + Len works + picks

Hunter + a few others works.

Because of Houston's cap situation, those are the only trades that would work salary wise.

Crabbe don't work here no mo.

They seem to have lost the "the" since the "break up" of the Soviet Union.  Don't know why they lost it, but don't really know why they had it in the first place.

Capela and it's not close. Adams also has a trade kicker.

That being said, there is advantages of Adams contract ending when Trae's money is due. We can do a Brook Lopez cap favorable deal at this point.
