Huerter really showing he can grow into being our Lou replacement off the bench as our 6th man that comes in and carries the offense when Trae sits. Some of us have been talking about who are we going to sign to be our Lou next year, well here we go.

Obviously this assumes we are starting a healthy Trae, Bogi, Hunter, Collins, and Capela next year. Still not opposed to drafting or signing a true backup scoring guard as a replacement for Lou, or even re-signing Lou for a cheaper 1 year contract. But Huerter could easily be our microwave offense off the bench, especially with another offseason of growth upcoming. 

And with Huerter and Bogi continuing to grow into better lead ball handlers, possibly even Cam eventually, this opens up the possibility to bring back Kris Dunn to be a defensive minded 2 guard off the bench.

Remember this?  I posted several times over time:

Opposing teams, attempting a trade with Atlanta, would say, "Give us __________ and Huerter and we have a deal."  How many times did we hear this in the past?  Teams wanted the Hawks to "throw in" Huerter to make the deal.  

Thankfully, the Hawks didn't fall for this.  Some have thought that we should trade him as he didn't "fit" with the other young team.  Well, last night the asking price went way, way up!

I made a couple of these myself Gramps knowing he was good but fearing he wouldn’t unlock the full arsenal due to his reserved personality.

Last night he brushed his reserved personality to the side and became who he was meant to be.

If a rookie SG with nice size has a .522 eFG and a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio you just let that man rock.  Drafting Cam understandably had him a little shaken about his role but he’s back to his arc of damn near exponential growth.  More muscle, more free throws, more wins, more dough.
