Not surprised since I thought he'd be the most likely trade candidate to get us under the tax.

It was almost like we never knew him. When he was 3rd string, I knew Atlanta would try to sell him to someone else. Under the LT at last. No need to become a repeat offender

Not shocked at all.  Will we be able to release Vit and pick up someone else?

Mixed feelings....
On one hand it's a move that confirms we are cheap... we could have kept him until later in the season and dumped him to still get under the tax, possibly not having to give up a 2nd. 
On the other, it guarantees more backup min for JJ

That was confirmed via the Huerter trade. But yes, this is further confirmation.

It's two fold:

1. We were $1.2 mil over the tax and for that puny sum you want to avoid the repeater tax next season

2. It removes the 'over the tax restrictions'  on any possible in season trades - it offers more flexibility in terms of what we can take back in a trade.
