I know Trae is still a bit immature but I’m not sure what the point of that ultimatum was from Nate… all because Trae didn’t wanna participate in the shootaround while getting his shoulder worked on. This is a bad look for both of them to me.

Nate's ultimatum is incredibly dumb. I get that your frustrated that your star player isn't ready to go against Denver but to suggest he completely stays away from the arena is so so stupid. I don't get this point at all. What is he trying to prove with this powerplay?

And Trae should of not taken Nate's comments so literally. He should of still showed up, sat on the bench and supported the team. If Nate still orders him out of the arena, after Trae's shows up. Then McMillian clearly has to go.

Really hard to tell who's the aggressor in this situation since we have no context.  Nate is a pretty chill coach that doesn't really have a history of butting heads with players.  At the same time Trae is as close to an ironman as you can get and pretty much never load manages.  Sounds like someone had an attitude and it led to this.  Hopefully this is a one-time misunderstanding.

I think a lot of folks are quick to judge here. Really hard to tell who is at fault but if I were to guess it sounds like both of them to a certain extent. If we knew the situation fully, maybe someone is more at fault but who knows.

i believe most star players are diva like in any era with some more than others but you gotta keep this shit in house and not let it get out publicly.

Trae has to learn to become a leader in his own right. He must show some improvement in this area. I hope they can put this behind them and move forward.

All the way back to last year when Trae repeatedly froze other players out after they got hot in the 1st half of games. I saw players visibly get annoyed at Trae for not passing them the ball!!! I knew he was a toxic player

Sounds like Trae is implying that the offense shifts more to a motion player and ball movement offense but then I don’t know if that’s what you’re truly saying because that would take the ball out of Traes hands more offensively.

This is bigger than a shoulder issue. The real issues are what I laid out. Trae thinks Nate's offense is a relic from the late 90's and he wants to change it up some. He wants to do catch and shoot. He doesn't care if the ball is in his hands less as long as the offense is more diverse and frankly not just isolation sets. 

Nate wants a faster pace and Trae to pick up his defensive play. Notice how Trae mentions he works on something new every offseason, which is 100% true, but there's one part of his game he never mentions. Ever. And I mean EVER. What is that? His defense.

Obviously him being out didnt affect the players..One of the best games we've played as a team all season.... Hell Nate coached a great game too...Might as well see what we can get for him.. Trae isnt the leader we need...And never will be.....Just give the keys to Murray.. smh

I mean, Trae's NOT wrong.  Nate's offense is a 90's relic.  And more catch and shoot and a dynamic offense is exactly what everyone has been clamoring for around here.  That said, doesn't excuse him from sitting at home and pouting like a baby if that is indeed what happened.  Not a good look.

Thanks @Sothron. Kind of ties together with your coaching rumors. I think both are right, I hate our offense. Trae has to get better defensively, mainly more consistent effort. This sounds like two stubborn people going at it and refusing to meet in the middle.
