Popular Post NBASupes
While the article was damning, I didn't judge him from it other than a Squawker who thinks he as a fan can be a GM of a multi billion dollar franchise isn't the smartest thing to do when guys like Travis are paid millions to do this. This is an extremely difficult job. But what bother me was Koonin's interview. It told me that Ressler has no f***ing clue. You are literally in a situation where teams are trying to kill you in deals and what do you do. Say we are trying to go all in to make the f***ing playoffs. That's not what you want to hear when your future is looking a thousand times bleaker this year than last year because you made an hasty trade since your franchise player demanded you to do it. That was stupid. You have to look at deals for now, the future and the potential of if this goes well as well as if it goes bad. This isn't 2k. Teams aren't dying to trade you players in today's NBA. GMs are smarter than ever. I am truly ASG worried but maybe more worried because ASG was all about the playoff money and being profitable. I don't think Nick is even about that. I think he has this odd belief that he can 2k his way into creating a contender. Running off the lead architect is just stupid. Forcing him to trade for Murray and trade Kevin wasn't smart either. Hureter had one of the best contracts in the NBA. Was trading him even needed? I am officially worried. I don't feel confident about our present or future. Honestly, I hated the ownership group of ASG but they let the Basketball people do the Basketball things even to our deteriment and ruin the business on the other end. Nick is ruining the Basketball and that's a damn shame. I don't know what's next. Nick is such a want results now, I can't honestly tell you. Without Travis, I don't know what's next for us. He was so smart. Damn. Edited January 14, 2023 by NBASupes 8 2
ShooterSays
It’s a long shot, but Wemby would solve so much for this franchise. Both on the court and off. He’s really the only hope I have at this point in righting the ship quickly. Outside of that, I agree, future is bleak without Travis. Going from Travis to a 27 year old NBA 2K GM might be the biggest downgrade in history.

With our rookie contracts outside of AJ coming to an end soon, we are financially limited as well.

We’re financially restricted and soon to be draft capital restricted once it’s time to pay up for DJM. 1

He doesn't want to reward the choas of our Front office with a CHIP.

StonedDogs
A 6ft social media PG, a completely clueless and cheap owner, and his son runs a professional basketball team. What could possibly go wrong? Where are the titles coming from? Your #1 is in this years draft but how do we get to him? 2

Koonin must know that the writing is on the wall. 3

Premium Member JeffS17 Posted January 14, 2023 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 14, 2023 Every new piece of media around this team reinforces my thought that Ressler is trying to position to sell. Making the playoffs is critically important from a business perspective because you are able to bring in more revenue and show higher margins on operations. And I'm sure teams pick up on this, so it's going to be very sad when this family mortgages the future of our team to cash out.

JTB
I agree 100% @NBASupes…I said this a few weeks ago. The Resslers may not be ASG but they are turning out to be be just as bad purely from a basketball perspective. I also hate to sour more on all of this but I can’t see us a getting a top 5 pick. We’d need to tank in order for that to happen and Nick wants us to make the playoffs…seems like he’s willing to do whatever it takes for us to be a play in team! You’re right the future is extremely uncertain. Hell wouldn’t surprise me if the dude traded more of our picks !….damn crazy that this could actually get worse .
JTB
Is this the youngest front office in nba history? Would really like to see if that’s true.
Final_quest
Not sure this is the right thread, but what is the value of DJM? We are saying one first for Huerter was “giving him away”. If we didn’t do pick swaps, would that be more of a fair comp for DJM?

Premium Member Sothron Posted January 15, 2023 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 15, 2023 I hate to agree with this but I have no choice. I just don't think a team being run by a 27 year old with zero experience in the NBA and is a huge fanboy of our star player is the way to run a franchise.
